Super Flower Leadex III 650W 80+ Gold $15 off sale, plus 10% coupon code for new customers. I already had an account and the code didn't work for that, but luckily my wife doesn't have one. Registered a new account in her name and the code worked. I put in two email addresses and both received the same code, so this should work as long as you are using a new account.

I also applied for Paypal Credit for a 20 dollar bonus, and paid with a credit card via Paypal, which allowed me to apply the 20 dollar credit to this purchase. That isn't specific to this deal and could be used for anything, though.

Lastly there is a $10 gift card for first time purchases using the newegg app. I don't think this item qualifies though, since I believe it is a 3rd party product?

The code is ONLYUAA. It doesn't appear to be specific to each person, I got the same code in 2 emails. You have to use a new newegg account though. I just created a new one and paid with paypal and had no issues. All you need is a different email address.

Im amazed at how long it took super flower to penetrate the international markets .They used to be a brand you could only get in asia. They make really nice stuff and their PSU's are of the same quality as Seasonic

I bought a leadex iii and there is no warranty contact in the manual. On the website there is only a number in Taiwan that I'm not sure I even know how to call. Anyone dealt with their RMA process before? If I have to pay to ship my psu to Taiwan it might as well have no warranty.

Super flower pops up now and then. I had one back 15 years ago. They tend to make some of the brands we get in the states but get rebranded.

Looked into Super Flower. Bought the leadex 1000w platinum supply after reading a lot of good reviews on it. As others have said, Super Flower made some oem for EVGA who has always had good rated PSUs. It's not a "no name brand" like it may sound, they're big players.

They were previously sold under EVGA here though

I got a devilish notion on if the modular cables match up with any of those too

650w is no longer sufficient if you are looking at a RTX 3080, 3090 and AMD 6800XT. Plan ahead and keep that in mind. PSU has become a very expensive component during the pandemic so you want to make sure to buy the right wattage for your build.

How do I get the promo code for the 10% off? I already submitted my email through the pop-up on the website.

Do you have any good sources for how much headroom the psu needs? By my calculations 650w psu would have about 150-250w (or 23-28%) of headroom supplying the current top tier gpus.

It's from many sites and youtube reviews I've looked up doing research on how much power the new cpus and gpus are using. For gaming, 650w is doable. But when all the cores are engaged, like doing content creation, power consumption will spike up to over 600w. All the new Intel and AMD CPUs and GPUs are power hungry. It's better to have some headroom left with the PSU so it is not being constantly pushed to 90% power usage. Some of the top end AIB GPUs will also use more power to the tune of 60~70w extra. The Asus Strix and EVGA FTW3 are one of thse.

I do this for every new releases. Power consumption is very important to me for reasons even I can't explain myself. I always look for high performance/lower power usage cpus and try to find the right balance. I Google "cpuxxx or gpuxxx power consumption" and look up as many reviews as I can find.

I think you mean the 6900xt. The 6800xt and 3070 are quite power efficient. The 3090 and 3080 are the biggest hogs at 335w and 320w, but 6900xt is a bit better at 300w.

A 5900x draws about 142watts at load. Add 335w worst case which totals 477 watts, well within the comfort zone of any decent 600w PSU.

If a 70w power spike to 90% of PSU capacity causes a problem, its because you got unlucky or bought a cheap brand. In my experience with GPU mining, good power supplies will run 24/7 for years at 90% capacity without a problem.

From what I've read, the leadex II is the exact same as the EVGA Supernova G3, and the leadex III is an updated version of those. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's my understanding from reading forums and reviews.
