Been waiting for the digital code to go back on sale. Hard copy is the same price at multiple retailers.

This is a great game. So much better than BotW.

Breath of the Wild is overrated. It's good, but just because it's got Zelda in the title does not make it great. It's alright. Worth playing, especially when it came out as a launch title for Switch.

But there are many better games with better, more thought-out UI's as just an easy example of one place it goes wrong. By the end, the gameplay was so samey (fight, weapon breaks, go into poor inventory, pull out a new weapon, two swings, weapon breaks, go back again into terrible inventory, two swings, weapon breaks, rinse, repeat) that I was happy enough to sell it once I was done.

Plus, the only time it gets truly compelling combat is in the mildly thoughtful boss battles, of which there are very few. If you own a new Switch and are looking for a compelling, exclusive game, you can do worse (but also better) than Breath of the Wild.
May I ask what games you're referring to? After sinking nearly 500 hours into BotW, I've wanted something that sort of has it all like BotW. What would you recommend?

If you buy digital it will only be playable on one single console - you can't buy games on 1 Nintendo account and share digital games between 2 consoles. There may be a method to have the profile work on multiple consoles but it involves signing in and out and won't allow coop play. With Physical, you just pop the cartridge between consoles and there's no concern.
This is not true at all. I have two switches. Make one primary and one secondary. Primary can play digital games anytime. Secondary has to check internet every two hours. We play games online together and only have to buy it digitally once.

just make sure you play games on different profiles and you both can play at the same time.

I think you were playing it wrong. I played many many hours of botw and at the end game never experienced that problem. There are tons of really difficult enemies to battle all over the map and reward you with great weapons. My inventory was always filled with powerful weapons that lasted several battle before breaking. When they did break I always had other powerful weapons to pull out. My opinion, botw is one of the best games created for the switch.

You can have 1 primary console associated with your Nintendo account, and all profiles on that console can play any of the digital purchases without Internet (and without swapping cartridges). You can then play your entire library on an additional console using only the account that purchased the games, as long as you have an internet connection for the license check. You can even play the same game simultaneously on 2 consoles this way (only buying the game once, and using secondary profiles on the primary console and primary account on the secondary console). This does not allow wireless multiplayer though (even with physical, you'd need 2 cartridges, right?). I have another account associated with the secondary console that I use to buy free games so that some of the games on that switch can be played without an internet connection.

Why? Because it's not what you think?
Let's see combat is better, story is better which isn't saying much, graphics are better, world is insanely better. Tons of puzzles built in. Sandbox heaven. Now tell me why you don't think so instead of spewing another bonehead comment.

Assuming you mean the original Zelda on the Switch (aka BotW), I Enjoyed BotW dramatically more. I paid $40 for Link's Awakening and feel I overpaid. It's decent and the graphics are beautiful, but it still feels like a GB game in terms of design (simplified mechanics, a giant fetch quest too add duration, etc. I can see it being amazing even with its rudimentary graphics back in the day, but not in 2020. It's incredibly easy, even for a Zelda game, and wasn't that much better than some of the Indie clones like Blossom Tale.

I have been playing Zelda since the NES, and it's one of my favorite series although I never owned LA on the original Game Boy so I don't have nostalgia for it. In my opinion, this really should have been $40 at launch and under $30 during sales.

Thank you for that insightful comment. Now when you can afford a switch and actually play botw come back and let us know. Love to hear these descriptive stories you tell.

Careful of digital codes if you have multiple switches and family
Why careful? Not sure I understand the comment. We have 4 switches and mine has all the single player digital codes which are installed on my kids switch. Anytime they want to use it they just click my name instead of theirs. Pretty easy really, but they do have to play when I'm not playing my switch. Not much of an issue.

It really isn't very difficult to set it up to have people sign in to play games on another profile. I'd argue it's actually easier than the swaping out the cartridge. Or risk the chance of young kids ruining a cartridge or losing it. To each their own, but I've personally had my kids break a cartridge, but they have no issues sharing digital games with my account.
