Zwilling® Pro is a step up from Four-Star. Because it has half bolster, the 7-inch chef's knife has the entire 7 inches of cutting edge while the 8-inch Four-Star chef's knife has 7.5 inches or less cutting edge due to its full bolster. Not everyone is a fan of full bolster especially if you sharpen your knives yourself. Pro has full tang while Four-star has 3/4 tang. I also own this Zwilling® Pro 7-inch chef's knife.

As to the block versus magnet question, a block will not damage your knives unless you are losing them wrong. If you wash the knives before putting them away, there should be nasties inside and they are angled so dust won't typically style into the slots which you can rinse with water.. I've used a magnet bar and a knife tray but went back to a block after my kids were able to reach the drawer.

I think it works great, but you have to push down hard enough that it makes those high pitched scraping noise, otherwise it won't work.

Cutlery and More has a Wusthof 7 pc set for $200, but otherwise, yes, this is a great deal and worth waiting for - if you can wait. My guess is that they'll be available well before July.
I'm buying for Christmas gift I hope its sooner than later.
