Don't do it! These cameras are trash. I am extremely unhappy with my purchase but am stuck with all 8 of my cameras. Terrible range, terrible night vision, terrible motion detection.
That's BS! I live in a 4 story house over 3000sqft and I have zero issues. They work way better than Ring or Arlo and I have had both. In fact these replaced an overpriced Arlo system.
Also, you bought them on Amazon so why didn't you return the cameras??? Dude you need help
I have a 2500 SQ ft home and moved the sync module around the entire home. Their claim of 65 foot range is BS. Couldn't get 30 feet of range in some areas. The night vision is so extraordinary bad. They claim 2 years of battery life but that's only if you have the cameras on minimal settings with 5 second clips. Motion detection doesn't work half the time. Wish I bought Eufy cameras or got a wired system.

The question is what's going to happen after January 2021? If you don't buy subscription will it be like eufy?

Curious myself as well. Anybody know? I have a friend that this would work perfect for... But want to make sure they can get free cloud storage like my grandfathered account.

eufy comes with a hub and a local Ai chip, so no need for subscription. most competition does it's Ai on the server side . . . if that is the case with blink, then blink will always need subscription or access to the Ai server (like wyze) for it work correctly.

Can you elaborate for someone new to this? What's happening with this company in 1/2021?

If u r looking for some camera with ultra high resolution and record to a NVR. This is not for you. It is a convenient and long battery life camera. It can put in anywhere , even a tree. Only change the battery every one or two years. It is not a always recording camera.

On the best buy page's Q&A they say that this model will store videos on a USB drive if one is plugged into the sync module. Otherwise it's like $3 per cam per month, or 10 cams for $10.

Trash? Do you care to elaborate? The reviews are pretty good. I just ordered a 2 camera set and was wondering if there is a way to avoid the monthly fees and store the video on SD Card/hard drive? Thanks

Yes module sync 2 is coming soon. This module allow you to save your video footage to your local USB drive without having to pay for subscription.

I've got 10 cams with a mix of these and XT2s. $50 a cam is the price you're looking for. For another $10, you can add an echo show 5.

Great for what they are. Set up a schedule or be armed all the time. I've been running 2 at the front door for over a year on the same batteries.

I have 2 XT's. I have to replace the batteries on one every month. The second one every 2 months. I know...I'm sure the blink lovers will be all over me because I'm "doing it wrong". This is using amazon lithium batteries.

I have mine set up for 20 second clips. I'd say 7 out of 10 times, I get the amazon drivers back side leaving my house after he drops off a package. Never get him walking up to the door. Not sure why the motion detection doesn't pick him up. I've fiddled around with the settings enough to know it's just not going to happen. If I reduce the clips to 10 seconds I get nothing. The range is fine for me...both cams are about 30 feet from the module.

Night vision is ok. Not great, not terrible.

Be aware that you can't live view on anything but your phone. Yes it can be done by downloading a bunch of stuff to make the cameras think your laptop is a phone...but I run linux so I'm not jumping through all those hoops.

The only way to view recorded video on your pc is to download the videos from the app or usb stick.

I have an amazon cloud cam for indoor that is wonderful. I wish they would've pursued a system using those cams and software. But I'm sure they don't want to compete with the own blink cams.

All in all...if I could return them and try something else I would. Not that it would be better....I'd just like to try and find out if there is something better. That said a hard wired system would fit all my needs but I'm a renter and can't poke a bunch of holes in this house.

I've had 4 Blink XT for years and motion has been great. One on front porch let's me know who's ringing w/o sub. Understandably it's not 4k PoE setup. To each their own I guess.

I have 3200sqft. Would highly recommend more than one sync module, if only for scheduling flexibility. I use 3.

I have four of the original XT's still in the box. Am I screwed as far as subscriptions go since I never opened an account with Blink?

I got these on Prime day. 2 camera plus an Echo Show 5 for $150. They take 2 lithium AA batteries. You can also install a solar panel that plugs into the back of the camera as well for $30 each but I haven't done that yet. You can configure the video clips to save to your USB device that's is plugged into the Smart Hub. Blink also works with your Echo Show Alexa device. When the motion is triggered, a notification is sent to your phone and Alexa device. Then you could just ask Alexa to show you the camera that was triggered and Alexa will establish a connection to that camera. What I don't like is the delay from the motion sensor, it could be a bit faster.
