Thank you for the link. FYI: If touchscreen is a must have, this is not for you.

My aging ASUS chromebook is starting to lag (2gb RAM, 32gb storage), but with news that Ryzen Chromebooks coming soon, I'm trying to wait. This is a great deal for 1080 though... So tempting!

1080p IPS (confirmed by HP in Q&A)
Crostini support
2026 updates

This is a good deal.

Use cases for someone who already has a better or more powerful laptop:
1. Dedicated laptop to visit shady websites (e.g. sports streams or right kind of tube sites, full disk encryption is automatically set up so you don't need to delete your history laugh out loud).
2. Extra monitor to watch random content on next to your battlestation
3. Separate laptop to journal or write content if you have trouble concentrating in your main computer
4. Throwaway laptop when visiting foreign places that might tap your laptop (e.g. China)

You don't need HDMI as it has USB-C. A straight DP cable or a cheap HDMI adapter will work just fine

Noticed this one on the BB site just after I ordered the one for 129 this morningFrown Had to cancel and order this one for the Screen, speakers and N4000. My 83 year old mother doesn't get along with touchscreens anyway.

Yeah my order is for the 1080p silver chromebook, it even shows the right one in my order details but the slickdeals link is now showing a 720p for $129. Maybe the sale is over for the 1080p chromebook?
I saw the 1080p with no touch. Sd link takes to 720p with touch screen. Is there a big difference upgrade in processors in this compared to 720p with touch?

Yeah, there's a pretty big difference. The N4000 will be noticeably faster then the N3350 even in a Chromebook. Octane scores are 16,000 vs 11,000. That said, nothing wrong with the 3350 if ya really need a touchscreen and don't mind the 720 display. I've been staring at 720 displays since 2012 and really don't mind them for my uses which DOES NOT include watching movies.

Is this a better buy than the Costco $199 HP14 chromebook ? Specs seem same except that one has 64gb storage.

Not familiar with Google Zoom but I would assume the N4000 would be much better for something like that.
