I guess this may be the problem of the wifi adaptor, because my children were having zoom classes and they had no issue, so it must be the laptop issue. I am hesitating if I should give another test but worry it messes up important meetings.

In my case. Thinkpad T should be good but you need spend extra $$ for it.
All cheap laptops are cutting corner. Even it say IPS, but not a good one. And mostly use cheap wifi card too. Unless you are going to replace with intel wifi 6....
My workhorse are t480s and t490...
If you are mostly using external monitor.... it would fit for you getting i5
But a warning. It only max to 4k/30hz through hdmi.
Or bump to midtier laptop that support dp alternate through usb-c thet can drive 4k/60hz
I'm sure it can run... you won't have a far field of vision, nor be able to use shaders and the like... but it will run!!
