How about the touchscreen with i5 for $50 more?

Different laptops because of the touch screen. If touch screen is important, the one you linked is a better deal for basic use. Should be much faster because of better cpu and lower resolution

anyone personally tested this to see if it has HDMI 2.0? or is it confirmed only HDMI 1.4, never mind what the supposed spec says.

So this is definitely a dumb question but I'll ask anyway. Can this run Minecraft in basic settings with the integrated graphics?

Last week when I used this laptop for a conference, using Microsoft teams, it kept discontinuing, at least 5 times during 35 minutes meeting. Voice was also not continuous sometimes so I missed a few questions. Luckily I memorized dial in info and immediately called in.

I guess this may be the problem of the wifi adaptor, because my children were having zoom classes and they had no issue, so it must be the laptop issue. I am hesitating if I should give another test but worry it messes up important meetings.

most of the time I work with an external monitor, so I am seriously thinking about returning this one and get the 349 one, which has a lower resloution.

If you need a laptop for work. Get a real workhorse laptop..
In my case. Thinkpad T should be good but you need spend extra $$ for it.

All cheap laptops are cutting corner. Even it say IPS, but not a good one. And mostly use cheap wifi card too. Unless you are going to replace with intel wifi 6....

My workhorse are t480s and t490...

This is for i5 version?
If you are mostly using external monitor.... it would fit for you getting i5

But a warning. It only max to 4k/30hz through hdmi.

Or bump to midtier laptop that support dp alternate through usb-c thet can drive 4k/60hz

I have kids running minecraft on laptops from 3+ years ago that were non-gaming laptops...
I'm sure it can run... you won't have a far field of vision, nor be able to use shaders and the like... but it will run!!

I agree. The i3 version is not ideal for work related. Thank you for sharing.
