Man, I feel bad for the commenters here that dropped their hard-earned money on these Vizios thinking they're a little buggy now but will get fixed. C'mon people - it's Vizio - buggy is kind of their thing. Spend the extra money and get an LG

Also got this last time. 55 is my size limit upstairs in our living room because of the cutout above our fireplace. Huge step up from a 4-5 year old TCL S series, but I do prefer the picture on the 2018 Vizio P65 in our basement - just gets brighter and Dolby Vision HDR looks better. But the OLED does have richer colors, and is a very nice set for the price. If I had do do it over again, I'd probably go with a 55-inch variant of my basement set, but I'm pretty happy with this TV.

So I've had this TV since the first preview sale happened a about a week or 2 ago. The first set I got died in 2 hours, but that was just a lemon. Second one has been preforming phenomenally so far, I did watch a couple hours of 4:3 content and it had image retention from the letterboxes which went away by turning the TV off for about 15 minutes, but the temporary image retention is definitely a real problem and I don't think I've heard of problems with other brands OLED's . Firmware definitely has some issues still, but for a 900 dollar OLED its blown me away. Still keeping my eye out for any other issues, and wont hesitate to return it if I need to, but I'm really wanting to love this TV.
It must be a vizio oled problem. I have a B6p and a b9p and neither have had any retention problems. Now my two old Samsung plasmas, those have some retention problems lol

I got the Vizio and also have a 2018 LG OLED. I was already stretching my budget at $900 and couldn't go another $400-500 for another LG.

The UI is vastly superior on the LG and the Vizios feels like some cheap knock off. You do have to tweak the settings a lot, whereas I've been blown away with the LGs plug and play setup. The magic remote on the LG is far superior as well.

I really can't afford $1,400 when I started wanting a mid-range $500-600 55"... but those were not appreciably better than the $200 TCLs (mostly 60 Hz panels or other flaws) and somehow ended up with the $900 OLED. It is OLED and IMO a steal even with the flaws right now.

Xbox Series X users with this TV please chime in! Thanks
Eh we're still waiting on an updated Vizio patch to fix VRR on 120hz, and the Apple TV app on the Xbox won't run. But other than that, it looks fantastic. Been playing on a 65" Vizio oled since launch.

I'm not using Vizio's OS since I have an AppleTV 4K and an Xbox, but yeahh the savings is kinda nice vs an LG. Supposedly it's the same panel in the back.

VRR with 4K/120hz is the only issue I'm having. This is a known issue. Everything else IMO is great.

Got a guide on suggested settings to tweak?

I'm not having iPhone app issues. What issue are you seeing?

Tv picture is great but the software blows. So far the TV got messed up in a way that I could not access any apps or smart TV features. Only fix was to unplug from wall and now works again. Debating whether to keep it or not though since the software is so damn bad.

Give it some more time. Vizio has taken a step in making oled but they're not ready for primetime yet due to software and subpar image processing
Might have to give it until 2022 then. Due to supply constraints I had been reading somewhere that Vizio's current TV lineup is titled as the 2021 line so may not be any new models next year.

I got the 55" last time, with geeksquad warranty, and have no regrets. Using primarily for streaming movies and tv shows via Chromecast with Google TV dongle.

Awesome picture after making a few tweaks.

My fav settings are to start with the "Calibrated" picture mode and then adjust...

Boost color to 55 to 65 range for more saturation.

Lower "brightness" slider slightly to 47-48 to avoid that washed out look. Note the "black detail" setting can add back some of the shadow detail that you might lose from lower brightness but I'd turn that off for HDR and Dolby Vision content where it appears to have the opposite effect. For HDR content turn up "tone mapping" quite a bit until the picture gets bright enough.

Adjust luminance, lower for dark rooms or higher for bright rooms.

Boost highlights by increasing peak luminance to medium or high and/or increasing the "contrast" slightly, especially for daytime viewing.

Optionally turn edge enhancement and local contrast on if you'd like a more contrasty picture. I find the low setting to be sufficient.

Turn on motion smoothing settings to at least 2 or 3, or whatever looks good.

YMMV; I'm not a pro, just sharing what looks good to me in case it helps others.

Yes, there are still some software bugs but nothing major for my use case. Smart cast is ok, froze once but I was able to reboot from the system menu; Did not have to physically unplug the TV as others have. Gaming might be another story but for my use case I feel like I got a great deal on this TV and I plan on keeping it.

Considering that Amazon had 65" LG CX OLED for 1800 recently, this doesnt appear to be that great of a deal as it's Vizio and its OLED is definitely not comparable to LG's.
