I bought all vizio M classes for my family years ago and they are ALL holding up perfectly with no issues whatsoever. I think 5 sets total with the newest one being 4 years old.
I bought myself a pq-65 two years ago and it's been kind of a headache.
The hardware handshaking causes a lot of momentary black screens, some are more frequent based on which HDMI input I use. I asked Vizio about it, and they blame whatever device is plugged into the set at any given time and isn't considered a flaw. So the extended warranty isn't of any help right now.
My tv turns on the middle of the night and the UI is super slow and unresponsive at times. I'm wondering how to get this set turned back in for warranty without them blaming something else.
The picture is great but if you can get similar or better performance with a different UI and less bugs for a little more money, I'd do that instead.
The biggest worry I have with this thing is the Tivo Roamio menu being left on, and so far has been left on the screen for a good number of hours in total with zero effects. I'm well versed in retention and burn-in; our stored 77U 41" Plasma shows burn-in of the Cartoon Channel's logo - my kids for some reason loved Adventure Land - so I've been very wary and watchful for any impending burn-in, retention, or any other effect.
I'm happy to say there's no evidence of any kind of any burn-in at all!
Even those days I suspect that I've done it, I've left a static image on the screen for HOURS - I check and nothing's there. No retention, or faint ghostly remnant, nothing. I would expect the 2020 and now 2021 version of the LG (how time flies) will be even less susceptible.
On top of this advantage, after all it's clearly demonstrated that the VIZIO suffers severe retention, and that the LG uses WebOS - a well engineered ecosystem - there's simply no reason to stick with the VIZIO if it means saving 16% over the LG. The headache isn't worth it IMO.

I got this last time around, and I like it. The picture quality is good, and I haven't even calibrated it yet. The user interface leaves a little to be desired. For instance, they have preloaded apps on the tv, like Netflix, Hulu, and many others, but you cannot download more. I use Sling, and it's not preloaded. Vizios solution is to pull it up on your phone, and cast Sling to the tv. Not exactly what I had in mind. I just plugged my firestick back in, and use that. I'll be upgrading to the 4k one on BF hopefully.
As far as screen retention, I've had zero issues. Maybe because I'm coming from a plasma to this, but I haven't seen much of anything resembling retention.
I'm not a gamer, so cant help you folks there, sorry. But, for everyday viewing, it's a nice price to get into an OLED.
So when I launch the new Apple TV app installed on my Xbox Series X with the OLED, it attempts to adjust the HDR mode before launching and goes into a fuzzy green screen and then spends the next 4 minutes shuffling through the HDR modes.
