Actually I owned two Q80T's that had various issues. It's super annoying that any light source makes rainbows across the screen. Then the dirty screen effect is HORRIFIC and was on both. Made the TVs unwatchable. I just took my second Q80T back and got the 900h back yesterday and the only thing the Samsung did better was blooming control around subtitles.
I have the 65 q7dt. I have had no issues as you describe and none of the issues being reported on the 900h. Specification wise it is not on par but the picture to me is better than my 2018 qled Samsung with fald. The tizen os is nice. I like the SmartThings integration where it notifies you of ring camera events and shows camera on screen. This Sony is a great deal for the specs. I have always been a Sony fan and only recently replaced my Sonys with the Samsung's. I also like the stand better on the q7dt.
I was getting ready to go to Costco to price match and saw that I paid $969 for this TV back in October. TV is good so far, bought it for when 4k OTA is available in my market. Costco also mailed me proof this week that the warranty is 5 years since my box said 3 (in store models now have a 5 year sticker placed atop the original).
I bought the x900h from BB for 970 a few weeks ago.
It was GARBAGE out the box. Wouldn't connect to my google account, kept overheating freezing and then rebooting (like my old Hewlett Packard desktop used to do in the 90s).
Apparently overheating is an issue with these
Best buy replaced it easily in home (once I got ahold of the right person 5 hours of phone calls later) because it was within the first 2 weeks and broken out of the box.
New one works great. I love it!
Thoughts on this versus the Hisense H9G for $950 at Best Buy? Rtings seems to favor the Hisense a little, but I'm wondering if the warranty and Sony brand make this the way to go?
No joke, I've ordered this from 3 places since 1 AM this morning, only to cancel the other two once Costco dropped. (B&H for $999, then BB for $969, and finally Costco for $969 + 5 year warranty!)
