They were around $100 then on sale,so adjusted for inflation these are SLICK.https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...s/emot-LOL.gif
Except that the quality has for sure gone down... My previous experience is with a set >10 years ago with a green LED on the pod.

Regardless of the quality not being the same, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better sounding 2.1 system for around this price.

I can't decide between a set like this or a 2.0 studio monitor setup. Worried the bass might be too boomy. Any opinions?
There's a bass dial. But no equalizer. But I reckon you would adjust that via your source.

I returned these speakers to Costco after the last sale. I hated that it didn't have an off button, and I had a static noise when not in-use (which was annoying for the bedroom).
I agree about the power button, but I have two of these and don't have the static issue.

With the subwoofer adjustment knob you can literally turn the sub all the way down so it is not audible. They suggest setting it about 1/3 of the way up. I surmise that you'll be OK in terms of boomy bass...

These have been the standard for 2.1 computer systems for almost 20 years. Great set and price.

It's really V-shaped. Good for movies and games, less good for music

If you spent maybe $150 or so, would you pick another set of speakers or these?

My Boston Acoustics volume knob went bad and I am still trying to replace it. It is good sounding, but cannot use without a new potentiometer.

Seems like the best value for a lower-end set. I'm buying two for my kids so they have a matching setup.
While you're at Costco then pickup one of those extra large things of Tylenol for the headache😂

This is the first time I have seen them under $100. The best computer speakers I have ever used. Had them for more than 5 years and still working great. Can't recommend the speakers enough

I don't know if the Logitech is better than these, but the Logitech ones have a power button so I can turn them off when I'm not using them so I don't have the static humming noise when not in use.
So from your personal experience they have similar sound quality?

I've had these speakers for a few months now and love them. None of the problems people are complaining about. Those that complain about no on/off switch?? Geez, a simple smart plug takes care of that. These are well worth it at $89! I seriously doubt you'll find anything this good at this price.

I agree with this, hook it up to a smart plug and if it causes damage you bought it from costco for a reason lol.

Unbeatable for $100, I use them everyday and they have awesome balanced sound and bass. I also have very expensive hifi but I used the promedias 95% of the time.

It uses power for its subwoofer when it's not being used. Shutting down causes issue? Anyone experience same?

If you are worried about the power it nets out to about a $1.25 a month in power... I get being efficient and it should have an off button but just hook it up to a smart plug or ignore it.. ( heck the smart plug draws power as well all the time lol )

Purchased these around 7 years ago at BB when there was a deal for 99$. Still work flawlessly. The bass is little too strong but can be toned down (i keep it about 30-40%). They get pretty loud and the sound quality is absolutely worth it. Can't recommend them enough!
