I bought the 55" Android version for 200 from BB, I'm actually pretty satisfied with it. The only thing I can't figure out is how to get 5.1 through arc.

For me Roku will always be superior for one reason: Private Listening mode. To be able to use my airpods and switch from phone to tv is a convenience I'm willing to pay extra for, not sure why other platforms haven't implemented this feature yet.
Would this be any different from just connecting the TCL android TV to your Bluetooth headphones for listening? I know I can do this on my 65" I bought from Target a few weeks ago. No phone needed.

This thing's Chromecast feature works worse than a V1 Chromecast. I like to cast sports streams to it, and gave up, my v1 ends up casting more smoothly

so I had to plug a Chromecast in just to Chromecast.....on an android tv. lol wtf

I would take Android TV over Roku anyday, if it were for me (a relatively tech savvy user) and not my mother/grandmother tier user. Way more flexibility, waaaay more apps. Can be a standalone emulation/console/TV device with bluetooth controller support ffs. Just install Retroarch. Roku's walled garden is way smaller and way more restrictive than Google's/Android TV's.

Agreed! I don't know why so many people prefer roku over android.

The ability to watch youtube without ads alone is worth the switch to android for me.

I just had a look on the 65" tcl tv I got in the target offer and I can confirm it isn't in the play store. I had a look on the xfinity site and it says android version needs to be 5 or more. Guess its something you may want to consider if your buying one of these TVs.
Xfinity updated the Xfinity Stream iPhone and Android mobile app, and you can now cast the content to a TV via ChromeCast which this TV supports.

been planning on getting a 43inch to use as a monitor for a while now. saw this deal and literally ran to my local target to find out. out of stock at two nearby, went to a third where they had a couple. currently hooked up to my MacBook pro 16inch, driving at the the full 4k60hz. will probably update after a couple of weeks using it as a monitor. first impressions are pretty good, looks pretty color accurate to my untrained eye.

I'm contemplating on getting a 43"-55" to use as a monitor or go with dual 32" monitors (HP 32f's). I don't need 2k or 4K monitors. I have a Ryzen 3600 with GTX1060 along with a 512gb NVMe. I have one HDMI and 3 display ports along with DVI. Should I go with a monitor like this or possibly two of these?

What cable are you using. I've a DP(1.2) to and getting 4k@30hz. I bought a 4k@60hz dp to hdmi cable from ebay, but it didn't work. I can live with 30hz on the computer and shouldn't have any issues with XSX's hdmi to tv hdmi preforming 4k@60hz, just bummed I can't get the 60hz wi h myb(on board graphics) computer. And I read Intel HD Graphics 530 does support it.

I have this TV and I am very impressed with the picture. I also have a high end 48" Samsung UN48JS9000 that I paid $900 for so I know what quality picture looks like. TCL is the first company that make Mini-LED TVs and those come very close to OLED. So TCL is not a no name generic brand like the others.

I bought a 50" TCL from Costco for my sister a few years ago and she has been very happy with it.

Don't need a new monitor but kind of want to add this to my computer setup. 🤔
