Zelda will take up nearly half of the internal memory in case anyone is wondering. I purchased a Switch for my kids last year and mostly physical games but digital games are so much more convenient that I have been buying those for them. Minecraft, Zelda, Luigi's Mansion 3, Mario Odyssey and a handful of those $1 games found via slick deals and the internal memory is full.
Unless there is something special about these (more resistant etc) I wouldn't pay the extra for the nintendo name. I just bought a samsung pro endurance for 19.99 for my s6 tablet. I've not kept up with nomenclature on these cards so hopefully someone can chime in since now I'm after one for an actual switch. Preferably 256gb or bigger.

I see memory card deals a lot. I'm new to Switch, do I need one if I just play off of physical discs? Not planning on playing online games, just offline couch co-op. Help? Thanks!

read speeds up to 100MB/s(1) and write speeds up to 90MB/s(1) compared to the samsung. Same price.

Console has 32GB built-in which likely will get you a handful of games (I've seen some games that are 3GB and some that are nearly 15GB). For $20, it is worth investing in a good memory card and having the space.

Thanks. Looks like the samsung is 100/30 so much slower write! Looks like the 256 evo select is 100/90 and $30 compared to the sandisk switch 256 card at $40. Anything else to look out for? I saw something about security cams needing special cards due to constantly overwriting but obviously that doesn't matter for this. Thanks again!

The Switch's 32 GB of built-in storage will be plenty for save files and updates for physical games. If you do manage to run out of space, you can delete the updates for games you don't play anymore, or just buy a microSD card when you need it. MicroSD cards that are good enough for the Switch are readily available for $20 or less every day of the year.

Pro endurance cards for video cameras to do 24/7 recording. For phones, tablets and other stuff, you are better off with a card with faster read/write speeds.

for $18, it's worth it for the mushroom logo alone for my little Mario fan
