The S4 is a fantastic vac and a great deal. Just be aware that it rides 0.2" closer to the ground. It can handle very low, tight rugs, but cannot handle thick pile, or climb over anything taller than 0.59" So if you have high threshold to cross, or high rugs, or thick rugs, you won't be happy with the S4.
If you are looking to save and have just one level and DON'T need sophisticated mapping capabilities (spot cleaning, room scheduling, no-go zones, invisible walls), then the E4 might be all you need. That's been a cheap as $185. That's a great semi-smart vac that just cleans the whole floor every time. No laser mapping.
Thank you for the detailed info. I will look out for E4. I need something under 200 which can clean carpet well.
Any idea where to buy OEM replacement parts for the s6? Bought one in spring, and even though there are hundreds of aftermarket sellers on Amazon selling cheap third party accessory bundles, I would prefer OEM to avoid quality and fitment issues. Prefer not to eBay or go on Chinese market ec-ommerce sites like alipay, etc.
Is there way to buy extended warranty. I see Asurion for floorcare for $33, will it apply to this ? Does it cover battery ?
I had Coredy which worked great for exactly 14 months and then battery charging is giving error and I am out of warranty.
If mopping is important to you, I would go for the S5 Max (unless your home is 100% tile floors throughout). The S5 Max has an electronic water tank, which lets you control it from the app, with things like no-mop zones. The S6 Pure is a "dumb" water tank that you either switch on or off.
Personal opinion but if you have hardwood floors, I would not use any robot vac for mopping. They just drag plain water across your floor -- that's not great for hardwood floors. So if it were me, I would be the S6 Pure and don't install the mop at all.OR if all you have is hardwood and no plush rugs, then save money and get the S4, which rides lower to the ground and is just for vacuuming hard floors or low, tight rugs.
Why do you say go for s5max unless you have tile floors throughout?
How durable are these Roborocks? I know the brand has been around only a few years
I'm done with Neato, I've owned 5 over 10 years and 4 are dead now with the last two dying less than 2 years old
I have the S6 Pure and was so happy with it that I just upgraded to the S6 MaxV.
To my surprise the MaxV is not much better. The S6 Pure has just as much suction in the normal settings, is a bit more quiet, actually finishes cleaning the house a bit faster and does just as good a job.
The big upgrade (and definitely not worth $200 more) is the electronic tank for mopping. You still pretty much need to remove/add the mop pad manually when you intend to mop even with the MaxV so what I thought would be nice to have this thing ready to mop and scheduled to do so really was not the case.
As for the Pure.
Its very efficient, fast, easy to maintain, has a great app, and I cant really find any flaws, just don't expect much for the mop feature.
This deal seems to be dead. The promo is only for items sold by Amazon and right now they're all sold by Roborock so the coupon doesn't actually apply at checkout. Contacted Amazon and they confirmed it has to be both shipped and sold by Amazon.
Picking out the right one of these (and getting a good deal) is way too complicated.Anyone want to recommend something for me?
I need virtual no go zones and pet hair friendly brushes and I don't necessarily need a mop.
All floors are LVT or Tile and the house is one level.
From the reviews i've seen/read, the no-go zones work incredibly well and accurate. The S6 Pure works decent (none are perfect) for hair. The S4 is about $40 cheaper but older tech. At this price point, get the S6 Pure, nothing else makes sense. Unless you want to take a chance and wait for the S5 Max to come on sale for a bit lower than this.

Can anyone comment on Roborock customer service? I have an Ecovacs Deebot N79S and had an issue with it but I found their customer support wasn't great so I fixed it myself. I'm interested in eventually upgrading to a higher quality robo vac with mapping capabilities, preferably from a company with a better customer service track record.
I think s6 pure may be best for you based on your needs. Roborock's app and tech are very polished. Their robots are very smart, feel like using an iphone, if you get my drift... If you think you will mop then S5 Max is best. Either way, you have until 1/31 to try if you get it from Amazon.
How does Amazon handle returns of robot vacuums? If you try it and do not like it, can you merely return it no questions asked, or must you provide a justification (for example - item is defective?). Appreciate input from anyone who has experience with this. Thanks!
