Assuming their listed steel tensile strength is real (which I'm not so confident it is), it absolutely would be, but that's setting a pretty low *ahem* bar. Even if it's actually much lower quality than listed, their warranty against bending inspires confidence. I'd even bet the cheapest bar is better than the CAP barbell from amazon (listed at 110K PSI tensile strength) that is typically recommended as a starter bar and usually sells for around $150 but is now for whatever reason at $270.

No. A bar is a bar until you're in the the 1,000(probably more 2,000 tho..) club and even then that just means you probably want to work out with nicer equipment generally.

The only reason I'm looking for a barbell is because the generic one I got with ~350 lbs of plates from craigslist has a slight permanent bend in it. I know you're supposed to unload your plates when you're done regardless of how good your bar is, but I'd like to think these are at least a bit better at resisting bends than mine was.
