This model has the Self-Cleaning Brushroll which has plastic parts on one of the rollers that breaks hairs when it spins. Also has Powered Lift-Away.

You can search previous shark deals to find some good discussions, they tend to mirror what the article says. Folks recommend the self cleaning head. It is awesome for long hair, including long pet hair. They say this model is heavy and can be a little difficult to maneuver because the head swivels. Everyone seems to be very pleased with its ability to clean.

Oh yes this is the best one shark makes. Even better than the Vertex in my opinion because despite the vertex having the powerfins and a tad bit more suction, this has an electronic motorized mini power tool which is better than the air driven one that comes in the vertex and a lighted wand. I have the apex speed and it is a great vacuum. You just have to remember to wash those foam filters as they do get dirty rather fast compared to the Dyson's (DC14 & DC25) I own.
