Why would someone buy this instead of just buying a cheaper 2tb ssd and putting it in one of those external ssd cases?

Edit:. I thought this was a 2.5" ssd, but now see it's a nvme drive. You should put that in the title.

This has a NVMe ssd drive in it... reads upto 2000MBs... at best you might be able to buy the cheapest nvme drive and enclosue on Amazon for around this price.

Which 2tb ssd you are suggesting?

Which paring are you looking at? This seems to be quite a reasonable deal for the advertised speeds if it can perform at the speeds.

https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/wd-...-drive-ssd

For $200, you would be hard pressed to find a combination of an nVME SSD and USB Enclosure that performs at the advertised speed.

Despite it being backordered, one of the best deals in recent history for an external 2TB NVME USB 3.2 gen 2x2 drive. I placed an order...., and it will be well worth the wait. I will cancel if something better comes along, which I doubt.

Great price but the only real advantage over HDD is load times. Game play is all the same. You can get the 5tb for under 100. Overall that's a better value.

I see 2000mbps for read speed but what about write? I was eyeing the T7 but this seems like a better choice. Too bad it's sold out. Would make XSX game transfers super fast

I got a 2TB SSD connected to my XSX using a cable and it took only 3 minutes to transfer 80.70GB from it to the internal. Idk how much better this one would do.
