Like so many Streamlight products, this is a dinosaur. This is a plastic light with a lousy emitter, disposable batteries, low output, and low CRI. Even at this discounted price, it's still a bad deal because there are so many other options. For example:
As a retired Firefighter Medic, I can attest that Streamlight products never failed us. I worked for a fire dept that had a live burn training center. We set fires in a concrete structure and trained in 500+ degree temps. Besides our trusty duty gear (Streamlight,Pelican and Petzl) We put many other Amazon and eBay lights to the test in harsh weather and high heats. The proven Streamlight products never failed. The off brand Chinese shit with all this high tech never survived. Not many will push their lights this hard, but just know that if you want / need relibility, Streamlight delivers.
I would take a streamlight over any Chinese Amazon brand, regardless of old "tech". Some technology sticks around for a reason.
I'm a LEO and carry 3 lights with me on night shift, weapon light, flashlight for normal use, and mini light for reading documents in darkness. All of them are streamlight.
All 3 have never failed me (brutally durable) and they don't eat batteries as fast as surefire.
If you want a toy, buy Chinese. If you want a tool, buy streamlight

Oh goodness. Lighting and lighting accessories -- one of my many, many SD weaknesses!
Unfortunately (or fortunately) the lanterns I have and love aren't slick right now, though a couple are discounted. Picked up a few keychain lights for quickie xmas gifts.
One of the reviews states this can't fit an 18650 but comes with 2 CR123's, which are not rechargeable. Can anyone clarify? I'm not familiar enough to know if his statement is correct that an 18650 is the equivalent size of two CR 123's. Since I have several 18650s I would prefer to have a model which could use those.
Thanks for any help.
BTW, any recommendations on a small portable and a large very bright model on sale that uses 18650s would be much appreciated.
How does this deal compare? Big fan of anker products, and it's slightly higher lumens and rechargeable. I won't use the light everyday, just sick of manually recharging 18650 batteries with my other flashlights.

For the small light, the Sofirn SP10S linked above is tough to beat, especially at that price.

I have the same question. Better to get a rechargeable then disposable batteries 🔋.

For the large, very bright light, it really depends on how large and how much. On the extreme end:
