Starting 11/25 existing T-Mobile customers on an eligible plan with at least 2 paid lines can add a line for free.

Do note that when adding a new line yourself online, the website will show that you will have a regular line cost per month. However the free line promo will apply automatically after you have added the line as long as you are on a qualified plan.

Attachment 9672157

How to find your plan's SOC code: https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/...soc_codes/

This promo DOES NOT stack with the following phone promotions:

- iPhone "On Us"
- Free smartphone w/AAL
- iPhone BOGO
- $950 off iPhone 12 Pro
- $99 Galaxy S20 FE

Important note: Do not attempt to get one of the ineligible phone promos with the free line. The system will default to giving you the phone promo instead of the free line and you'll be stuck with a regular paid line. To clarify, if you purchase a phone on EIP on the free line that would normally qualify you for a phone promo listed above, it will force the phone promo over the free line. This basically prevents you from adding any of the phones above to the free line.

It will stack with other phone promotions not listed in the ineligible list like the free/half off pixel promo.

Also starting 11/25: $100 port-in rebate:
Port in a number to T-mobile on a new line (including the free one) and get a $100 rebate up to 4 times. Details on this promo will be added when available.

Last time they had the free porting deal, it did not work with Military program.
11-25-2020 at 12:39 PM
I just got off the phone (11-25-2020 11:30 Pacific time) with T-mobile and they stated that no military plans (one plus or magenta) qualify for the free line.

***Update 12-1-2020*** Went to Costco today and they were able to add the free line to my military plan and I qualified for the byod and receive $200 promotion. So far my account shows the new line as part of my account with no extra charge... Per the representative at Costco, all plans, including military, qualify for the free line at Costco... Good luck to those on the military plans.
11-25-2020 at 02:35 PM
I can confirm this as well as I just got off the phone with them and they said MIL Plans don't qual. Lame!
11-27-2020 at 11:25 AM
NO, T-Mobile charged me the full price for the "free" line. All MIL plans do not qualify.
11-27-2020 at 01:01 PM
Yea, it's the same every free line promo. Military doesn't qualify. I sorta regret leaving my simple choice family plan. I could have about 5 Lines by now.

Just chatted with T-Force. Agent said the free line could be added in costco. And the offer should be enrolled automatically if your account is eligible.
11-25-2020 at 09:20 PM
T-force also told me the same thing as they told mike. itll be added auto-magically
11-26-2020 at 06:57 PM
I was there yesterday and the young lady helping me was not able to do it. Is that because I am on T-mo One? I also cannot add a line at t-mobile.com without agreeing to switch to Magenta.
11-28-2020 at 12:23 PM
I added a free line to my T-Mobile Magenta plan at Costco last night and got the $200 rebate from them for bringing my own an unlocked device. At home I was able to apply for the $100 rebate on T-mobile's website for porting in a number. The number was a Google voice number I had just created and unlocked for $3. The hardest part was getting on a device that allowed me to see the setting to set up a voicemail pin since that was needed to port.

Open your Google voice account in an incognito tab. Search for unlock google voice number. It will ask you to pay 3 dollars. Once that is done your Google voice is unlocked and you can port it out.
11-25-2020 at 03:54 AM
Google voice won't work for this
11-27-2020 at 07:14 PM
T-Mobile rep told me an unlocked Google Voice number does work for this. I ported the Google voice number I just set up before going in with no trouble. Account number is the 10 digit phone number and the pin is the pin that was set-up for voicemail. Setting that up was the pain since I couldn't see the correct settings on Google Chrome for some reason. On my phone's Google Chrome "desktop site" I could finally see the settings for setting up a PIN.

Post says "eligible plan with at least 2 paid lines"
11-24-2020 at 08:19 PM
post was edited, it did not reflect this when the initial question was asked, I'm asking these questions because they were asked multiple times in the thread. Considering nobody made a wiki, it was best to avoid the same questions over and over.

You need to use the steps above to see if your plan qualifies.
11-26-2020 at 12:36 PM
I just checked and the SOC code for first responders is not in the list. I also found on TmoNews.com that these special discount plans are intentionally excluded for the free voice line deal:

"T-Mo says that Military, First Responder, Unlimited 55, and any promotional plans that already have free additional voice lines do not qualify."

This is huge, again...I think I can get one more. I have 4 paid and 3 free lines right now on my one plus promo plan. I thought I remember reading, this plan can have up to 8 lines total. Anyone know for sure?

The last "free line" wasn't free, and made me lose my grandfathered plan, even though I was promised multiple times it was fine. Proceed with caution.

The free lines can stack, as long as you haven't cancelled any lines within the past 90 days or so...

I got the last free line and did not lose my grandfathered plan. No issues from me. Sorry to hear from you. I always have to triple check and ensure they document it in the notes any changes /confirmations.

@Jman100

I know you said it won't stack with some of the promos...but, I was going to trade in and get the iphone 12 mini on two other lines that I already have. Can I still do that and add a free line with another phone I already have?
