I don't post much but this is a deal I noticed last night.

DOLBY ATMOS for Headphones for Windows 10 PCs, XBOX One, and XBOX SERIES S/X is on sale for $ 10.49 (Normal price $14.99). If you aren't familiar...only Windows Sonic is supported out of the box for Xbox consoles and Windows 10 PCs,

Dolby Atmos and DTS are extra and require installation / activation.

You will need to install the DOLBY ACCESS app (which comes with a 7-day free ATMOS trial) via the Microsoft store on Windows 10 & Xbox Consoles.

Via that app you can access the purchase of DOLBY ATMOS as well as the settings. You also can go directly to the link for purchase.

This rarely ever goes on sale though I do know vouchers for a free copy are included with some RIG headsets.

But did you catch the donkey??
In all seriousness, I appreciate this unconventional way of testing the features. Would be fun to watch a YouTube review like this. (See your character on screen following a donkey with your eyes closed)
Thanks, lol! I was within striking distance 75% of the time. I picked the donkey because typically there is only one on screen at a time and the sound is distinctive enough that I could focus my attention on it even when there are other sounds.

I have a YouTube channel [youtube.com] where I am trying to focus on immersive entertainment. It started as a place where I posted tutorials for terrible software me and my friends were having issues with but at some point I decided I wanted to do more with it. It's pretty rough. Right now I am working on a video about the Canvia frame, ambilight for macOS, and a couple of longer series. Last month I did a live stream of my hot mess of a 'dream office' and I would like to focus on how to improve a real world office. Video's are totally a hobby for me so don't expect Linus. But maybe I will look through the supported game list and try and make some other benchmarks - before my trial runs out.

SlickDeals actually inspired another video I am working on. I have never sim raced before, so I thought it would be fun to do a multi-part review of the products from the perspective of someone new to the hobby. I recently picked up two Logitech wheels and a Thrustmaster T300 and some wheels to go alongside a Momo I found at goodwill. I am still trying to decide if I should pick up a Fanatec setup as well. (I would likely get a direct drive wheel, but that would cost more than double all the other wheels combined.) Every time I see a wheel go on sale here at SD I see lots of comments asking which ones to get. For this product in particular I feel the reviews all fall under one of three types: sim racers with years of experience and a $30,000 racing setup, an influencer who spent 2 hours with a product the manufacture sent them to capture footage, or someone reviewing the one they have used because they reasonably only purchased one. While there are benefits to all these perspectives they also contain significant bias.

I am very lucky to be in a position where I can just buy stuff. I haven't decided what I will do with all this equipment, but if it's like other purchases I might end up donating the ones I don't keep to a holiday drive. I am sure some kid would be thrilled to have it.

Going to try the free trial for Atmos, this thread has been very informative. I had my audio set up wrong this whole time, so thanks again Slickdeals!

How, I use TunnelBear and it's showing like $219 for me there. Have a direct link I could use?
You are seeing Argentinian currency, convert it to USD. For me its showing g 149.80 Argentinan currency which is equivalent to $1.85 USD

Yes, this is only if you want them to process the sound for headphone use (the software basically converts the data into two channels optimized for headphones if I am understanding correctly)
Ok, thanks for that, that's what I'm beginning to understand as well. If this app (or the DTS one, also on sale) will help optimize my home theater setup, that's an easy $10 spent, even if it's "only" additional processing software.

However, if the home theater part of the app is free, and you're just paying for the headphone optimization, I'll pass. As many have helpfully noted, Windows Sonic is probably fine for free.

No, but it is currently broken. Seemed to break around a week ago. Having to have all sound from computer go out 5.1 now. Shame too, as the Atmos from PC to receiver sounded great while it was working. Hoping they get it fixed soon.
Tested it just now with the Punisher on Netflix app and had atomos going to my receiver.
Always have had issues with atmos on my Win 10 PC for the last 2 years.
Sometimes you have to reboot to get it to work. Sometimes you have to go into the settings and enable Dolby Atmos for Home Theater under spatial sound.
What GPU are you using? I'm using a Nvidia 1660 right now in my HTPC.

I noticed that too but I don't believe it is broken just behaves differently. Before I would leave my PC set to Dolby Atmos home theater and get all sound. Then my pc sound went away unless i set it to 7.1. However when I played a Dolby Atmos movie my receiver played it in Atmos mode correctly.
Playing a movie file or a disc doesn't need atmos enabled in order for it to come through to your receiver. It will just bitstream it your receiver (even if you're configured as 2 speakers in the sound settings) just as long as Dolby True HD is in the supported formats of the sound device details. Likewise with DTSX; that should come through as long as DTS HD is supported. Only app that I found where the speaker configuration needs to be set up as atmos in order to get atmos is netflix. Now games need to have the speaker configuration setup correctly (if you want all the channels) but those are LPCM, not atmos (not aware of any that have bitstream for PC). There might be some games out now that take advantage of height speakers but I'm not up on the latest and greatest.

Oh wow, this app makes a huge difference.

I was watching "Homeland" on amazon prime using a Bose QC 35II on my laptop while browsing slickdeal and saw this. Gave it a try; installed and launched. It didn't make much difference on the initial startup with the default settings. Went into settings and make a few changes and wow, I can hear every detail in the movie. Worth every penny.

You can. I have it installed on two computers and use it with multiple headphones on those devices.

EDIT: I wouldn't pay for this. I received it free with a headset purchase but it's not that much better than Windows Sonic. For $11? Maybe worth it but I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.
You need to go into Settings and select the mode you want: Game/Movie/Music...etc and enable the Intelligent Equalizer. It makes a world difference.

If you wear any type of headphones or earphones, this will give you 3D positional audio both in games that support Dolby Atmos and 3D positional audio in movies that support positional audio.

I used ExpressVPN to log from Argentina, but it's still showing me the same $10.50. Any workaround?

Yes, now just scroll page all the way down, on the left you will see English US - click on it and switch to Argentina.

but the problem is you cant pay with us cc! You need to have Argentina cc or Xbox gc from Argentina. Let me know if you find a way.

What screen is this on? I don't see it in app... and on the account settings area... I don't see an option for Argentina. A screenshot would be most helpful :-)
