I still watch a lot of old tv shows that are standard definition. Is that a good reason to get 65" instead of 77", anyone? Sitting distance is about 10 feet

I know lg warranty can be lose but I wonder whether they will honor the warranty from this seller or do courtesy burn in repair. No mention of warranty on the page accept that warranty card need to also be returned when doing return. Apparently this store use to have a physical location but closed. All the trusted retail partners are on lg's site (even beach camere/adorama where all the deals come from are authorized dealers). I trust best buy open box over this.

Well the costco CX does have that super extended 7 year warranty... Watching these OLED prices fall has been so satisfying. If you can wait, definitely do so. Atsc 3.0 is not included in a lot of sets and I feel like OLED still has a long way to come down to be considered reasonable. At least when it comes to size. 65 OLED is the sweet spot right now size to price, but for an immersive experience you should go bigger

The price difference should be closer between the two IMHO. I had the same tug of war on the 65" and 77" and went with a CX 77" and am glad I did.

I am at 10' with a CX 77" and would not want to sit closer with my hawk vision. It just depends on the individual, some like to sit closer to a large set and others are bothered by it. SD will look a bit better on the 65," the 77" just knocks it out of the park with 4K UHD material and quality HD and Blu-ray also.

I returned the 65" cx for the 77" this weekend. The price difference was substantial but worth it IMHO. A tv like this i look at as a long term investment so might as well make sure your happy with it for the next 5+ years.

On the warranty side I can purchase this with my Costco visa and still get the 2 year warranty with the citi card. Then the 3 year Allstate warranty is only $99 at Costco so it would be a 5 year warranty on this for $3,100 as opposed to $3500 7 year.

Decisions decisions. These two sets are basically the same minus the 2.1 40gb restriction on the Cx? Anyone?

Last year's model. I'd just buy the 2020 model for a few hundred more. If that few hundred bothers you that much, you shouldn't be buying a tv this expensive. LOL It's like buying a Lamborghini and then worrying about how fast it is going to go through gasoline.

Many thanks. I've got "hawk vision" also, with glasses on. We watch more than 50% standard definition material, so I think I'll stick with the 65 inch. I have a wall mount that allows us to move the TV about 2 feet forward from the wall. So I can move the TV forward if we are watching 4K material and maybe get close to the same cinematic effect as the 77 inch. It's a difficult decision because I expect not to upgrade this TV for 10 to 15 years. We are still using our 15-year-old Panasonic plasma TV at this point. 5 years from now I could see myself wishing I had got the 77 inch. Ack. Maybe I'll wait another year to let the prices of the 77 inch come down. Right now you pay such a premium for that extra 12 inches.

I understand 100%, and the 65" is still a very nice size. If they would drop the 77" CX under $3K or $2500 a lot more people would jump on it! In 10-15 years 8K at 100" plus should be hanging on our walls to replace our projectors lol
