LG C9PUB 77" Class HDR 4K UHD Smart OLED TV. This 76.7" OLED TV features a native resolution of 3840 x 2160, allowing you to view detailed UHD images, and the enhanced black and contrast levels of OLED technology helps colors seem more vibrant. HDR capability provides a wider color gamut and increased brightness with compatible content and devices.
As a smart TV with Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, you'll have access to the LG Content Store to download apps, plus a full web browser for internet surfing. You can control the C9PUB with just your voice through your Amazon Alexa- or Google Assistant-enabled device. Its four HDMI inputs allow you to connect your digital HD sources, such as HD cable/satellite boxes or game consoles.

I'm wanting to get the best deal possible and have read both models are basically the same with the exception of the C9 being brighter. $500 difference is a big enough difference to lug the CX back lol
why would the c9 be brighter8.5.2

Been shopping for the 77 CX, but this certainly is tempting. I am glad to see it fall below $3000, whether I buy or not. I have the 5% bucks on my account too, so another $100 in ebay bucks.

cx in that respect is a downgrade.

not a downgrade, prob was just unnecessary, they know what they are doing lol

Holy crap, only $1000 more than a good 85" LED. I thought OLEDs would eventually go the way of plasma. But if they keep this up, maybe microLEDs might lose it against OLEDs? If they figure out burn-in concerns like plasma did at the end of its life...

I still watch a lot of old tv shows that are standard definition. Is that a good reason to get 65" instead of 77", anyone? Sitting distance is about 10 feet
I sit about 11 feet away from my 65" OLED and it's perfect for my my family. A 77" might be great, too, but I've never once thought the 65" is too small.

Also, if you're watching a lot of older TV shows, you might consider the Sony A9G. It generally has superior processing to the LGs in the "upscale" department.

How is this for gaming? Better than the CX? Was debating on this or the 65" CX

Last year's model. I'd just buy the 2020 model for a few hundred more. If that few hundred bothers you that much, you shouldn't be buying a tv this expensive. LOL It's like buying a Lamborghini and then worrying about how fast it is going to go through gasoline.
Except last year's C9 model has 48 Gig HDMI 2.1 instead of 40 (how can LG even call it 2.1 ?) and
DTS , and could possibly be brighter.

Can someone give me a reason not to get this? Been waiting forever for them to hit sub-$3000 and not sure what the other models that people are calling out may offer.
well because it might be cheaper 3 years from now, on an alternate Tuesday using a ymmv discount and a swedish credit card.

hmm I see the restocking fee is pretty high, 10% for unopened returns and 20% for opened. That would be $600 if you decide to return the item. I don't even know if they pay for shipping. Pass, worth paying that extra at Costco for a peace of mind, and it also gives you 4% back (2% from costco citi credit card, 2% for executive membership).

Not sure if others share same sentiment, but after looking at OLED vs other higher end TVs with local dimming and high contrast ratio in person, I ended up turning away from OLED at the current price point. Jumped on the latest Costco 85" X90CH deal for <2k. Definitely not as good, but the price difference justified at the moment 🤷 ♂️

in a store with super bright fluorescent lights? really bad example. the sony x90/x900 look good but oled is quite a big jump up.
