DISCOVER CARD has added BEST BUY to earn 5% CB on charges, in store and online from now to 12/31/20.

It is part of the same offer as the Amazon.com, Walmart.com, etc quarterly promo. If you've already activated it, you're good to go, Best Buy is now included (up to $1500 in charges, max of $75 back)

Best Buy is good IN STORE AND ONLINE, not just online.

I bought a 32 inch monitor from BB, price matched it twice to get the cost down to $329
Now, I don't want to return it coz I love it.
Is there a way to re-run that transaction from the Discover card and keeping the same monitor ?
Like if I go down to Best Buy and tell them I want to return and re-purchase the same monitor but with a different card ?
Is this in the realm of possibilities ?
I see 2 comments above me, who would be on board with this.

Since Discover no longer offers extra benefits on purchases, I don't think it's such a great idea to purchase electronics on the card just to save 2-4% compared to a card that does.

So I have a best buy credit card that gives 5% back on online / in-store purchases. If I use discover to pay off the best buy credit card balance, would I get the 5% back through discover as well?

You can't pay off your Best Buy card with another credit card.

Oh! That makes sense! Man $75 seems really low!
That's why people jump through hoops, excited by 5%, but then if you look at the actual money, it's not that much (it's called framing, in economic terms). That's why they do it, because it gets people to spend $1500 on things they might not have bought, and it gets people into the Discover ecosystem. I use the bonus just to pre-load Amazon gift cards for the year, so I'm less susceptible to holiday 'deals' and impulse buying.

Discover Bank has also been good for me, with 1.8% CDs I bought last May before rates crashed, and their savings account is still at .5%, and their debit card gives 1% in rewards. Unlike the big banks, they charge pretty much zero fees too, and the card and bank system integrate well, so it's easy to pay card bills from savings or checking and track everything in one place.
