If you don't need the head rest, another option for mesh chair (both seat and back) is WorkPro 1000 from Office Depot. Its Black Friday Price $125 starts at today (Wednesday) Midnight ET or 9pm PT. https://www.officedepot.com/a/pro...-Mid-Back/ Right now the price hasn't changed yet.
I have had WorkPro 1000 for the last 5 years. It is still going strong after sitting on it for 10+ hours per day as I have been working from home for the last decade. It is also a very comfortable chair to sit on. Its arm rests not only move up and down but also rotate left and right. Most times I type on my computer, but I can easily lean back to relax during conference calls. I had 3 office chairs before WorkPro 1000 and suffered back pain and sciatica from them. Shortly after I got WorkPro 1000, my back pain and sciatica stopped.
Re: Dexley can't lock in the tilt position. Is this false? Review on Staple says Dexley can hold in the tilt position. Can anyone confirm?
"I did have a little trouble with the tilt lock. After checking installation videos on Youtube, I was discouraged because a few people stated that the Dexley is difficult to recline and only reclines so far and that you have to use knee pressure to keep it back. That is
not so, you have to turn the lock beneath the chair to loosen it to your liking. It was pretty hard to turn, a wet washcloth finally did it. You loosen it, then use the height level handle,
pull it out and your chair reclines back very well, push it in and it looks in the position that you choose. I love this chair and can fall asleep in it."
Thanks for your comment. The only reason why i wouldnt bite on the dexley is cause of the recline lock. Watched some reviews and it seems they said u just hsve to fight the spring.

Thanks, gonna order this as well as the Staples chair and see which one I like better. Had some OD credit anyways.
Can anyone comment on how this chair compares to the Costco mesh chair for $100?
If you are talking about Bayside chair from Costco https://www.costco.com/bayside-fu...22611.html , I have no experience with it. However, when I was reading a SD post about Costco Bayside chair 5 years ago, several people mentioned that WorkPro 1000 from Office Depot was a much better chair. That is why I bought WorkPro 1000 from Office Depot back then. After 5 years, it is still my favorite chair. I have recommended it to several friends when pandemic started earlier this year and they all like it. Its Black Friday price $125 just started. It is probably the lowest price this year. https://www.officedepot.com/a/pro...-Mid-Back/
I did sit on both Hyken and Dexley chairs at Staples store. And I felt they were less comfortable than my 5-year-old WorkPro 1000. Of course, chairs are very personal and other people may have totally different preferences.
I am 5-11, 190 lbs. I sat on both the Hyken and the Dexley at my local Staples store. I almost spent an entire hour going back and forth between the two.
I preferred the Hyken because it's slender. You sit in it and your arms fall right on top of the arm rests. With the Dexley I had to open my arms to have them fall on the arm rests. I can see how a larger or wider person would feel tight in the Hyken, and more comfortable in the Dexley. The Dexley felt too wide for me.
As for the head rest on the Hyken, you definitely feel it on the top of your back if it is facing down. However, if you pull it up, and twist it up, you will not feel it. I can see how for a person taller than me (5-11), that you would perhaps feel the head rest on your back the entire time.
At the end of the day, I can see me using the head rest only if I lean back completely on the chair, and if I want to rest my head on it on purpose. Just like when driving a car, I cannot feel the head rest unless I push my head back towards it. Since you can lock the Hyken in such a way that you can let your body rest completely, it is nice being able to let your head rest as well. It felt perfect for me under that situation. This would be a nice feature if you for example are making a long phone call and don't need to be staring down at your computer and you just want to sit back and stare at the ceiling. When I'm typing on my computer (the majority of my day), I have no need for the head rest.
You cannot lock the Dexley when you tilt the chair back, so to me this feature completely sold me on the Hyken.
Once I got back in my car I noticed even more the comfort of the Hyken.
The materials look decent, but not great. However, for the price, I totally feel that this is a great deal.
I have a bonded leather chair that is now entirely peeled off and can't wait to throw it in the garbage. I sat on some of those in the store and walked away from them as soon as I reminded myself that now I have tiny pieces of leather all over my house.! Thanks OP... i was waiting for the price to get back to $149.99
I'm about 5'10 and 170 and agree with all of this. The chair does feel a little narrow, but feels like a nice hug if you are under 6' and less than 200. If you've got a wider than average bottom, you may not like this chair.
I do wish the seat portion stuck out a bit more. Sometimes it feels like the edge digs into my thighs a little, but it never hurts...just a little uncomfortable after 4+hours.
Quick tip: the arm rests are a little hard. If you find yourself leaning on your armrests frequently, you may want to look into armrest pads: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M8F9...UTF8&psc=1
It makes the chair look a little less sleek, but the armrests are oh so comfy now.

I think I also have the work pro! But, wish it had a headrest and lumbar support. My only complaint on its current features is the arm rests are very far forward, I feel like they should be 2-4" further back. That's why I'm looking at this upgrade 😜
Looks like 1 yr ago it was $110. That would be awesome. A few posts had it at $119 and $140. With the whole work from home lately it's likely to keep chair prices higher. I could see $140 again but not lower like $120 anytime soon. $145-$150 seems like average good sale price.
Picked up this chair last sale and i had to return it due to the lumbar support causing major back pain. No matter how much i adjusted it, i still was in pain when sitting. Returned it and an on the hunt for a new chair

I feel that it would be perfect for my hardwood floors

Edit: never mind, the center is mesh. The angle in the photo makes it appear as full cover fabric.
or will the store have a floor model?
