You can get apple TV 4K 32GB for as effective as $90 by taking advantage of Target Apple GC sale (SD post here) and taking advantage of Apple black Friday GC sale (link here [apple.com])

Note.. This is for the ones who consider GC value as cash Smilie

QA Note: The Target part with the extra Target GC is expired but the Apple TV deal itself at Apple.com for $179 + $50 Apple GC is still valid through 11/30.

1. Buy 2 x $100 Apple GC from Target and you get $40 Target GC back.
2. Buy Apple TV 4K 32GB from apple.com for $179.00 between Nov 27 - Nov 30.. You will receive $50 Apple GC (Detail here [apple.com])
3. You also get 1 year of Apple TV+ free when you buy an Apple TV 4K (new subscribers)

YMMV - Additional 5% savings
  • Save 5% ($10) instant discount with Target RedCard
  • Get 5% off cashback from Citi Card Online (select customers)
  • Get 5% reward points when using Chase Freedom Ultimate/Flex with PayPal in Q4

Thanks @ShawnTheCheap corrected the Apple TV effective price from $70 to $90
Thanks @GuttipalliG for pointing the free Apple TV+

Thanks to our user Tokar for detailed explanation...!!!

You are still paying full price for the Apple TV. It is just the current deals going on at Target and upcoming at Apple make it "essentially" $90.

You have to pay FULL price for the Apple TV 4k 32GB at Apple store for $179.00 between Nov 27-30. However, you pay for this using TWO $100 Apple gift cards which you have to purchase from Target by Nov 28 (online or in store). You have to purchase each card in a separate purchase. Each purchase will net you a $20 Target promo card (just another term for a Target gift card).

When you use your Target credit card to buy the Apple gift cards, you only end up paying $96 for each card (its not 5%, its 4% for gift cards). Do keep in mind that you really shouldn't factor this in since if you have an Apple Credit card you can get 3% cash back from Apple. You should be able to get 3% cash back from Bank of America for online shopping (if you select that). 2% cash back from CITI double cash. Hell, if you use PayPal with your Cash Freedom you will get 5% cash back! The only reason to get the gift cards right now is because you get the Target promo card.

If you buy the Apple TV 4k 32GB between Nov 27 and Nov 30 at Apple store (or online), full price, you will receive a $50 Apple gift card thanks to their Black Friday promotion.

So doing the math:

$179.00 out of pocket (not including tax)
"-$20" Target gift card
"-$20" Target gift card
"-$50" Apple gift card
=======
"$89.00" not including tax on the $179.00

(All in quotes because again, you are still paying $179 out of pocket, actually $200 out of pocket for those Apple gift cards. You will be left with a balance of $200 - $179 - tax on $179).

This assumes you treat the gift cards as "cash". If you shop at Target, they are definitely like cash. The promo Apple gift card you will get from Apple...its a stretch depending on how you connect with the Apple ecosystem.

So in the end:
You will get an Apple TV 4K 32GB
You will have 2x $20 Target gift cards
You will have 1x $50 Apple gift card
And you will have 1x Apple gift card with a remaining balance from the original purchase

Your comment cannot be blank.

Wrong...you pay $200 out of pocket and get an Apple TV 4k, $50-$70 in Apple GC and $40 Target GC.
Don't forget 5% discover CB for target.com
How does that add up to $70?

$180-$40 (Target GC) - $50 (Apple GC) = $90 not $70

Genuinely curious not hating how you got $70.

You still have $20 left from 2 gift cards (total $200).

$200 - $180 = $20
$20 remaining balance + $40 Target GC + $50 Apple GC = $110

$180 Apple TV - $110 = $70

The post is fairly misleading and confusing. So to sum it up, we pay $379 + tax out of pocket and get $469 worth of goods. However, $290 will be gift cards hmm
You only spend $200 out of pocket. You use the $200 Apple GC from target to buy the Apple TV.

This is a solid deal. Repped.

Apple TV+ is disappointing. I wouldn't even pay $1 for it. Nothing exciting to watch
it is disappointing. a few shows are ok but as a whole, it doesn't amount to much. apple tv+ is at the epicenter of pc culture however for those into that.

I have Apple TV on my firestick. Why would you need this? Just curious.

You've got the Apple TV app which gets you access to AppleTV+ (the streaming service) and your media bought from or stored on Apple/iTunes.

The Apple TV box gets you a full device environment - like the FireTV or Roku - with Apple UI, installable apps, and most importantly (I think) the Up Next episode and movie queue that aggregates shows and media from almost apps but Netflix, and automatically queues up new episodes, sports events, and movies you've marked to watch.

I believe you're forgetting about the remaining $20 in Apple GC from buying the $200.

Doe anyone know if there is an advantage to getting this if I have a Roku 4K streaming stick and have downloaded the Apple TV app on the Roku stick?

im getting it for the supposed ability to airplay videos directly from iphone to tv without using wifi connection. hard to find google hits on this, but it supposed to be "airplay mirror". confusing as many still say the iphone and appletv need to be on same network. can someone here confirm?

Just made me remember that out of nowhere AT&T $90 Apple TV 4k deal last year. Back then people thought a new release must be imminent too

Do I get an additional one year if just received one free year Apple Tv+ from getting a new iPhone?
Was this only last year (or whenever it was first happening)? Or are they giving free year of Apple TV+ for recent iPhone purchases too.

Can you apply the $50 Apple gift card to be used as iTunes credits in future?
Yes, the new 'For Everything Apple' gift cards are just that...for everything that is Apple and accepts a gift card as payment. They've combined Apple Store gift cards and iTunes gift cards into one now.

do the apple tv+ free year stack? can u buy two apple devices and have the free subscriptions not overlap?
Nope it is one year free per Apple ID. Also when you activate it you can't cancel it or the service will stop immediately and they have you setup for monthly billing $4.99 so don't forget to cancel.

I got a few of these with the cricket iPhone deal and can't give away the Apple TV.

Is it for sure that you'll receive the gift cards when paying with a gift card? Apple's fine print states that all these BF deals that offer a GC will actually deduct the GC value from the item's price and then charge you for the gift card. I.e., a $300 iPad with a bonus $50 Apple GC will show a $250 iPad and $50 gift card in your cart. And gift cards cannot be purchased with gift cards. Not crapping on this deal at all. Genuinely wondering. Just don't want to go to the trouble and be left with Apple GCs I didn't necessarily need.
