Thanks a bunch.
Based on reviews it doesn't sound as good as specs are.
Any other deals in that price range or cheaper around? Need something solid enough to be able survive my parents lol Smilie
This is honestly an amazing deal. I'm a network admin for a living and would definitely use this as a work machine if I didn't have my Dell Latitude. $400 is great. Drivers shouldn't be an issue these days; with a clean install, Windows is pretty good about detecting the hardware and installing to latest drivers. Turn on ultimate performance mode (Google it) and you're good to go.

IF.... you never had a Gateway laptop.... you never will.
Gateway stopped manufacturing laptops in 2007.
This are just rebranded Acers.
Some of the Gateways are Tongfang. I don't know about this one.

The entire Gateway laptop lineup has beautiful screens but overall bad ratings. People hate the interface. Apparently it is tedious and glitchy.

Why buy 3 of these when you can get 1 macbook pro for $1200? Lol
You meant that as sarcasm. But I feel it's true. If you want a laptop under $400. Get a chromebook. It will do 99% of what people want from a laptop. While being cheaper and lasting longer.

It's funny how generic brand laptops can have better drivers than premium laptops. My Gateway Creator series is far more stable than any of the Dell XPS laptops I've owned.
That's odd. I'm in IT field and XPS has been nothing but Great IMO.. and I cant believe Gateway is still around.. I remember seeing them in Middle school, which was back in the early 2000s..

Is this worth the extra $100 vs. the Lenovo for $300 at Bestbuy? That one also has 1080p IPS, but only i3.

15.6" is generally cheaper than the 14.1" or the 13.3" it replaced.

Until the lifecycle ends then they're useless.

Newer had Gateway laptops, any inputs on how good/bad they are?
Basic use for parents - web, email, netflix, youtube, skype.
Thanks in advance!
Just type Gateway laptop in YouTube search and see the suggestions. Then decide.

Refer to this insane deal on HP i7 laptop. even basic configuration costs only 249.99 with i7 11th gen processor. may be a cost mistake from HP, but at least it shows that price online. https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/14619280

These are great specs but I don't need one. These are newly released laptops from gateway. They are making a comeback.

This is the first Slickdeal that I would say for this Black Friday

Not that I follow it closely, but I had no idea that Gateway was still a thing.
