Bought this and is working nicely; not expecting great quality sound from downward facing speakers hence added a sound bar; even if it works for 2 years I am fine; at least saved me couple of thousand dollars
I bought this too. Go to the lower sides of the back with flashlight. The speakers are facing backwards. The sound quality is better than my 2011 55" Samsung 6 Series. I'm also amazed that Sharp ships this with mounting screws. The stands are made of metal (LG's 43" come with plastic stands.) Unlike LG, this Sharp TV hasa User Mode for Picture and Sound where we can manually adjust levels. Thanks to Android OS there are many settings and modes. I installed VLC player from Google Play Store today and played video and audio files from a USB stick. Android TV also allows to use USB stick/drive as a storage extension just like an Android phone. Every input can have it's own picture and audio settings. This is amazing. I'm very impressed! Android TV defeats the need for Roku in my experience. There are so many more apps and options in this one.

It's not really correct. Foxconn acquired Sharp in 2016 and Foxconn is a Taiwan company, not China, two different countries. Sharp TV may mainly made in China but once Wisconsin panel factory starts to run smoothly, it has the chance panel will be from the states.
Unfortunately it is even more complex. Sharp sold its north american tv naming rights to Hisense (for at least 5 years) (Chinese company), then Foxconn purchased Sharp. Foxconn then sued Hisense to get the naming rights back sfter claiming Hisense was making junk and destroying the Sharp brand name. So I am not sure who is actually producing the Sharp branded TVs right now. It could be Hisense still or Foxconn.

I'm near that Foxconn facility in Wisconsin its not really what you think it is. its much smaller then we thought it would be and much less jobs then we thought and we pretty much got F*&#ed by that company.

How did WI get F'ed numbskull? (AKA SFB's). When you're clueless about something and know zero actual facts to support your idiotic claims.... just STFU.... Fake news already is responsible for 90% of the BS, no sense in being just as dumb as they are.

Mines coming tomorrow, can't wait!

The panels are likely a modified version of one of their commercial display panels (probably from a Foxconn facility in mexico):

Direct LED Version
https://www.sharp-sbs.com/Product...4T-B70CJ1U
https://business.sharpusa.com/por...ochure.pdf
https://www.sharp-sbs.com/portals...rawing.pdf

The diagram shows the exact same side and rear profile. The design spec was drawn by Marco Fang from Foxconn on Nov-19-19. Given this information, you can probably understand now that it's not some cheap stuff put together like some negative nancys here claim. It's not a Hisense rebrand panel. It's a Foxconn panel.

4T-C = Consumer (Full Array LED, 1-Year Warranty)
4T-B = Business (Direct LED, 3-Year Warranty)

If you had to ask me if this TV is worth $500, I'll say this is worth way more than $500. This is easily a $650 TV (MSRP) and could even fetch for well over $700 in today's market if not for it being Foxconn/Sharp's first consumer display model. Their 4T-B models are going for over $1000. You're not paying any markups for this unit. They are relying on informed people (prosumers) to spread the good word. You're getting one hell of a bargain for a name once regarded as the best(sharp) to the worst (hisense), that's now rebuilding the brand (foxconn) and giving you an amazing opportunity to own something worthwhile.

70" for $500 is still a great deal

but I live pretty close its considered local news to me lol The incentives given to the company and amount of jobs promised vs how many jobs are available.... The money the local and state economy will actually get wont out way the value of the incentives and total cost for a very very long time. We actually gave them a lot and they didn't give us as much as they claimed, just google it and read multiple sources dont just read one read alot of them.

If you lived around here you may actually have friends who thought they may be able to get a better job.. but that opportunity never came and it sucks!

The factory was perfect. Anyone who wants a panel will get a panel.

After a month's of use, here's a tip.

Enable developer mode and set background process limit to 0/none and "dont keep activities". This fixes the lagging issue some of you may receive.
