I don't get why "Made in China" still has such a negative connotation in 2020. It is meaningless where something is made. 90% of the world's products are made in China, and just like anywhere on the planet, sometimes you get bad quality stuff and sometimes you have good quality stuff. Nobody ever questions the quality of iPhones, yet where are they made?
Because they have the persona of making low-quality products. It hasn't gone away and it probably won't in our lifetime. I enjoy my iPhone though...
Vizio panels are nice for the price but their UI and software are just terrible. Awful awful requiring resets and their UI is just unusable compared to all the other brands out there.

The iPhones are made to Apple's specifications, not a native Chinese company's specifications. That's the difference.

The Best Buy 70" is a 2020 version of Sharp Japan's 4T-C-BH series. https://jp.sharp/aquos/products/4...tline.html
This is Sharp's most basic line of 4K TVs. According to Sharp Japan's specifications it has Sharps' "Rich Color" engine which supports Wide Color Gamut and HDR10. This technology is very similar to Sony's "Triluminous" led color engine. However, dimming is full frame, so although it does dim it is not localized. Brightness advertised BB says "300 candela per square meter", assuming this is for both SDR and HDR content this figure is mediocre, 300 often scores 6.3 for SDR and 5.1 for HDR at Rtings.com. However, there is an anti-reflection film applied and viewing angles are good so this TV is best for a dark to medium lit room. Panel is VA so contrast should be very good. It also has a quad smoothing engine like Sony, and Panasonic but not as robust like Sony's X1 processor so there will be some after imaging effect. All said and done, this is not a bad deal. Would probably score a 7.2 on Rtings.com.
As I mentioned my parents own 70in 4k sharp from 6 years ago and I own 75in sony x940e with extreme chipset and local dimming
In comparison, the colors on sharp and motion handling is as good as my Sony. Where Sony shines is contrast brightness hdr but again its a $4k TV but sharp i still admire 6years later
Sharp is a very reliable quality TV especially this one
Sharp taught Samsung Sony lg and every other brand how to manufacture lcd with their licensed patents or as I say , secret recipe
They hold their own weight even if diluted
It's not really correct. Foxconn acquired Sharp in 2016 and Foxconn is a Taiwan company, not China, two different countries. Sharp TV may mainly made in China but once Wisconsin panel factory starts to run smoothly, it has the chance panel will be from the states.
