You will see some white spots like this on the tv

There is no light bleed on my TV contrast and black levels handle very well and gamma set to Low which I define as 0.8 look wonderful! The TV can look very crisp and very rich in HDR color and low gamma. Even on middle gamma the picture is very bright. On a total dark screen black IS black true to eye color with no light bleed whatsoever

Its not 120 refresh rate as they mention, the real refresh rate is 60 for this tv. "effective" refresh rate is just made up refresh rate to make a fool out of someone who's not paying attention.
This is very common with Sony, LG, and Samsung they used to call it X MOTION or Motion Flow it is a fake measure there are several articles which explain this however this is a wonderful budget tv

If you don't care about the government on its period or the history of Sharp and TVs:

This TV is worth the money.

I have seen several LED TVs made by LG for well over $2000 (ULED) and even with the soap opera effect or "Motion flow" and enhanced refresh rate you would rather hit yourself than spend that much on LED (which is old anyway)

OLED is the best, QLED replaced LED A LONG TIME AGO.

People on this forum love to argue over the quality of a good deal with total nonsense (oh wow a used car has had an oil change)

It's not really correct. Foxconn acquired Sharp in 2016 and Foxconn is a Taiwan company, not China, two different countries. Sharp TV may mainly made in China but once Wisconsin panel factory starts to run smoothly, it has the chance panel will be from the states.
Keep dreaming. I live a few miles from the plant in Wisconsin. They're not making shit here. Lol

Whatever makes you go to sleep. Dont even care, its a 70 inch TV for 500. If it was a real Sharp Aquos, it would have been priced way more than 500.
As far as I know, Hisense version of Sharp TVs never had "Aquos" in the name....just plain "Sharp TV"....this one is Sharp "Aquos".

in "your" lifetime, Not our lifetime. You don't represent many people. I love my Made in China TCL TVs and Lenovo computers and TP router. Their quality is exceptional.
I have a TCL TV as well...not sure why you're quick to get offended about someone talking about China. I don't care where a product is made as long as it provides good quality for a decent price. Enjoy "your" life! 😂😂👍🍻

I remember when Aquos was introduced as brand then it was premium. Hopefully it is true in this case.

Foxconn where. In the us? U are batty. That is never going to happen. That was trump propaganda. Silly people.
Foxconn or whatever company you can name here, there will be presence in US, I usually think easier way is you can only sell in US if you are listed in US. End of story for them.

I read all of these comments hoping there would be at least 20% useful conversation about the TV and it's about politics instead.

You're all fucking idiots.

So, is this worth $50 more than the Hisense 70"? My gut instinct is yes, but would love some other input.

I must have the worst luck with TVs. My 42 plasma Phillips went out just past the 3 yr warranty. And my Vizio p502UI 4k lasted just little over 3 year.

I'm now scared to spend too much on tv, if this sharp last 3 yr I'll be happy. I already ordered m65q8, trying to decide which one to keep.

We have a Sharp Aquos (12 yrs+) and a "Hisense" Sharp (2 yr+). Although it may not be a fair comparison because the "Hisense" Sharp TV was a budget version (Black Friday deal), our Sharp "Aquos" is a much better TV than the "Hisense" Sharp. But we paid only little for the "Hisense" Sharp (not too bad as an extra TV), so I have no complaint if it lasts for a while.
