The S5Max was a little bit better, but was planning to keep the T8+ for the self empty bin. The issue with the self empty is if there is too much dander in the bin, it does not empty well since it pulls from two smaller chambers on each side while I read the Roomba has one bigger chamber in the center that would likely prevent this. So every time I run the ecovac, I go check on it after it completes to see if it emptied. Tonight it did not fully self empty the bin so now I am considering this Roomba.
I would also feel better knowing it is from an American company, and thought I read somewhere it is made in USA in Massachusetts. I am going to pull the trigger and see how they all do.
Which one cleans up and navigates around by itself better for hardwood floors?
1. No object avoidance
2. No lidar

Now there was another update yesterday and its been struggling to go back to the docking station and instead would go to a random room and go to rest mode there .
I was super happy the first three days as it was excellent but now am having second thoughts if there is something better out there i can return this and buy .
