EDIT: Apparently all Lodge enameled cookware is not made in China (see later post by deckard). My bad.

Probably because this (unlike most other Lodge products) isn't made in USA, but China.

The proven, classic, made in USA 6qt Lodge Dutch Oven is not that much more at $69. I wonder how many unwitting buyers are thinking that they are getting that, just a little cheaper?

I didn't know that, and/or that has changed since I last looked into it (that only non-enameled Lodge is made in USA). Thanks for informing/correcting me deckard!
