You can get a pixel 4a 5G at 260-264$ after trading in a pixel 2 or 2 xl. This is the best trade in value for pixel I have found so far

Not everyone wants Google Fi. This is a great deal for those on other carriers that happen to have a 2-3 year old Pixel phone.

We have a couple Pixel 2 phones that are well beyond their prime. The batteries last only a few hours. And if you try to do a video call with 38% battery life, the phone shuts off and restarts. So they aren't very useful anymore. But trade-ins typically offer only $30-40. So $235 is fantastic.

It's my understanding that it'll work on the 4G LTE network. It is also capable of operating on the sub-6 network, but you have to have a plan that provides 5G access. This phone does not have a mmwave radio and therefore is unable to take advantage of Verizon's mmwave network where rolled out.

Have you guys read the horror stories of Google Tradeins? And you can't have your old phone back once they assess it to a lower trade in value.

And then Google store has a restocking fee for returns.

If this phone had wireless charging I'd be in to upgrade from my Pixel3XL but I don't think I can go back to a phone without it.

Does the crack on the back of the phone affect trade-in? I know it's not one of the questions you are asked, but wonder if that would affect acceptability?

Seems almost like a downgrade from the 3xl. Screen is an oled but 1080 vs 1440 on the 3, no wireless charging on the 4a. Battery is better.

I use wireless charging all the time, so thats the deal breaker for me. Maybe they'll offer it for the 5.

I was planning on rocking my 2XL a bit longer. But $235 trade-in looks to be too good. What to do? Probably will trade it but will sit on it for a bit longer. After I like my case and all lol

edit: waited all of 5 min. just bought it. happy Thanksgiving ppl

I'm not sure if Google's trade-in process has improved over the past few years but be careful. I traded in my Google pixel XL for a pixel 2 several years ago and the process was not pretty. They said my trade in was not accurate even though I had video evidence of the phone working and in excellent condition and forced me to take Google store credit rather then a refund even after I spent months fighting it. I believe they use a 3rd party to verify the trade-in so you're stuck with what you get. Unless you plan on continually upgrading with Google phones, you could end up like me 3 years later with Google store credit and nothing worth spending it on.

7. For Google One Membership, Keep a watch on 30 day credit mark, the moment it shows up, cancel the 2TB monthly plan, or roll back to lower tier. For existing members , can't say if they will be get charged one or two month before they cancel, but since a new member would have purchased device and plan on same day, hopefully they will be able to cancel before 2nd month charge hits resulting in net profit of ~$40 else $30

In Summary : $499 + tax(~35) + $9.99 [ for googleOne] - $27 [ assuming both are paid via paypal with 5% off card] - $40 [ google store credit] - $225-295 [ trade-in for Pixel 2/2XL/3/3XL]
= $180-$250

I won't think that is bad price for new Pixel 4a 5G in comparison to the Google Fi deal provided the trade-in doesn't hold much value outside these scenarios.
So the Google One $9.99 subscription for me states Dec 1 2020.
Can I cancel the last day of December and get to keep the 10% store credit? So basically it's $49.99 minus $9.99 Google One subscription.

You have to pay for the first month of the subscription to get the Google store credit?
