I think I'm gonna buy one at Costco($50 more across the board over Adorama) and get 4 years warranty instead
(they did have the M1 Air for $949 for very briefly, but now it's OOS, I'm sure they will come back)

For those of you hesitating due to the 8GB RAM, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P...=emb_title

The takeaway: the 8GB M1 MacBook Pro is more than enough for everything except the very most cpu-intensive tasks. And even then it's often on par with the 2020 intel-based iMacs. By all accounts, it's consistently faster than the previous Intel-based MacBook Pro with 16GB RAM.

Edit: sorry, this video was for a MacBook Pro. Not MacBook Air. Will leave this post up in case it's still helpful as it's the same chip.

Is there any difference between the $899 and the $1149 MBA models other than the 1 additional GPU core and storage being 256GB vs 512GB?

People have said no, but you can click and configure to get 16 GB of ram... but it's the same price at apple

Why is this cheaper than an iPad Pro? Lower profit margins?

Touch bar, more ports, brighter screen, different form factor.

they don't even have it in stock. when I add it to cart it says they are awaiting stock. Better to go with apple , at least we know will be delivered in 2 weeks.

iPad Pro has a touchscreen, better cameras and lidar. Much more tech in the iPad Pro.
