JackRabbit has Altra Lone Peak 4.5 Low Trail Men's & Women's Running Shoes (Various Colors) for $71.98 (reflected in cart). Shipping is free.
Note, must add to cart for the sale price.
These a very popular with hikers and backpackers. The large toe box and light weight work really make them comfortable compared to a traditional hiking boot.
This is about as cheap as I've seen the Lone Peaks go. I'd be all over it if I didn't have a pair sitting unused in my closet from a deal last Christmas that I still haven't had a chance to use for trail running. Thanks COVID!
? you can still go running b/c of the roni
I went on like 5 camping trips this year !
I used a size 11 when climbing katahdin this september and I lost my toenails , I returned them at REI but now I'm tempted to try and size up to 11.5 because this is such a good deal !
Just made multiple attempts to price match through live chat and over the phone for Zappos. Both rejected my request to match the in cart price of $71.98.

Bummer. I guess i got lucky. Try another rep? You could always buy on shoes.com and screenshot the price in cart and they might accept that? With calendar and clock.

I ordered some Altras from JackRabbit earlier this year. The shoes arrived with one missing insole and a severely damaged shoelace. I tried for a very long time to get a hold of somebody via phone and email. It was awful. I finally went directly to Altra and they replaced the shoes for us even though they normally wouldn't. By the time JR did get back to me, we had already received the replacement from Altra. I would never buy from JR again,
One thing to consider before buying the 4.5 is that the rear heel cup is very aggressive and can cut the back of your foot (happened to a few friends of mine including myself).
do Altra shoes still run a bit small? I remember a few years back most people suggesting go a half size up than one would normally get
For me Altra's run true to size for their trail runners. Which essentially means they've accounted for the "half size bigger" issue many people say to account for with hiking shoes. I think this may have to do with the enlarged toe box, but others might have better insight into this.
I've found their road shoes do not account for this. Essentially I buy my size in my trail runners from them (three pairs so far), and a half size bigger in my road shoes from them (two pairs so far).

That's a shame! I've had shoes with similar insoles and they become very painful after briefly being worn. Hopefully they don't continue with this trend.

So next week I'll tell you how much I hate these shoes
They've been a few dollar cheaper in the past, but usually with limited colors. Still a good deal.
