Just opened the box and found that we got the XL version instead of the Pro we ordered. Is this a better product?

It costs more than the Pro, looks like $230 ($280 is the listed MSRP, but there's a sale on the website) vs $180. So by pricing alone, yes it is better.

For anyone else that was confused about the differences, here's what I also found:
1) The XL version has a grill grate size of 9x12, while the regular Foodi and Food Pro have a 10x10. It's more rectangular rather than a square and has a slightly larger total area.

2) The dimensions of the XL are listed in the specification as: 15.7 W x 16.54 D x 11.0
while the Pro is: 17 L x 14 W x 11 H

In terms of counter space taken up, they are pretty similar: you are going to need a dedicated spot or put it away if you don't use it frequently.

3) The XL has the broiler function while the Pro does not. They both have temperature probes (the regular Ninja Foodi doesn't have the probe or broiler).
