I believe you are correct but I honestly recommend this set as a starter into surround sound system. Especially if you don't have a true 5.1 and are using a sound bar you can't beat the price for the sound.
Welcome to SD, where the majority of deals are upvoted by some and downvoted by others (sometimes with little rhyme or reason). I just jumped on this deal because I wanted to upgrade an older Sony "home theater on a box" I've had for years. The Sony HT still works fine but I liked the newer options available in the Onkyo system (e.g., Dolby Atmos, 4K 60p HDR, Bluetooth, etc). I also have always heard good things about the quality of Onkyo products. The included Onkyo receiver seems very competent and you can upgrade later to a powered subwoofer and different speakers if you like. Overall, I think it's a great deal on a budget 5.1 system that can't be matched by two speakers alone.
Look at Bose outlet items too. BFD outlet prices are unbeatable. But mind you, Bose outlet is certified refurb.
Keep in mind Dolby atmos can't really play on a 5 channel system. You would need at least a 7 channel receiver. That said, 5.1 has been awesome for me. And at this price nobody will find a 7 channel + speaker setup.
Edit: nvm, it's a passive subwoofer.

This takes care of the audio part of your home theater. Video is taken care of by a TV or projector (sold separately).
I'd spend the extra money on this and be happier:

Granted I have DefTech BP7006/BP6, ProCenter 3000 and Pioneer VSX-21 or 23, something sitting in the box waiting for me to have the room to set it up. Mom's boyfriend is getting to use my speakers. I'm a bit picky, but I can show you my old school setup with a 13" Sony tube TV and old Pioneer sound system I had to fix up, VCR and PSX. So don't think I've always just had good equipment.
per spec from Onkyo
155 W/Channel (6 Ohms, 1 kHz, 10% THD, 1 Channel Driven) 80 W/Ch (8 Ohms, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.8% THD, 2 Channels Driven, FTC)
so the usable output is really 80W for stereo, and maybe something like 60W for all channels with decent THD.
