8GB ram and 256GB SSD.
Pretty good deal. I purchased the same laptop from Best Buy currently on sale for $949 with a 1660ti and a 1TB SSD as the only differences. Paying about $150 more to upgrade to the 2060 (and another $50 to upgrade the storage) is probably worth it to a lot of people, but I'm very happy with my purchase. Not having to spend extra to upgrade the RAM or storage is so nice on a mid-range laptop like this and the 1660ti is more than enough for my needs.

The design of the laptop is fantastic and everything about it feels nice. And the thermals are fantastic. The fans don't get too loud when doing small tasks and are only really noticeable when gaming. My temps never get too high, usually ending up in the 80s while gaming, peaking at close to 100 when I ran some benchmarks (for those who care about benchmarks, the 4800H hit a 1211 single-core and 7961 muilti-core score on Geekbench).

The display is also fantastic, haven't had any noticeable issues. Overall, a solid laptop

Edit: Will add my one real knock on it was that the GPU performance is cut significantly when running on battery. Can't really find a way around it, but as long as you're not planning to do any serious gaming when the laptop isn't plugged in, it shouldn't be an issue.

If you really want a 2060 Omen, then this is a good deal. But the performance difference between the 2060 mobile and the 1660ti mobile isn't huge. Notebookcheck's multi game average is as follows:

Average Gaming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile → 100%

Average Gaming 30-70 fps → 100%

Average Gaming NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Mobile → 95%

Average Gaming 30-70 fps → 92%

Of course there are things a 2060 can do that a 1660ti cannot, but if those aren't important to you then you might do better with the bestbuy deal with a 1tb drive for $140 less.
You're paying $150 more for DLSS w/ the 2060. The 1660 Ti is a beast

I can't. My original post had that big the SD moderators have renamed it while converting it to front-page deal. You can use the Report Post option, select others and then mention this. Then FP mod can edit it.

I bought a HP Pavillion 15.6" from Costco with pretty good specs but not the same as this. What surprised me was that I could NOT install Linux on it. I have had multiple HP laptops before (DM4-2191US, G72-B63NR) and even two 27" all-in-one desktop and I had never encounter this. It turns out that HP hardcoded the firmware to only boot windows. See https://ubuntuforums.org/showthre...?t=2392797. I put in a support request and they could only tell me to call HP SmartFriends, which is potentially a paid support service. After a few tussles with online support, I gave in and called SmartFriends, and was told that installing Linux would void the warranty! I was not charged, but because of this I am returning my HP laptop.

So if you are thinking of dual booting or installing Linux completely, please watch out for this issue.

Hmm this Omen or the G14?
I haven't tried the omen but I can't recommend the g14 enough. It's a really really good laptop, past the paper specs. Really nice thermals, the laptop itself doesn't get very warm because it does a good job at venting the hot air away. Battery life is great, you can get 6-8 hours browsing/light usage. Also well made.

Ya sure, a 13.3" Laptop with RTX 2060 and Ryzen 7 4800H inside it....dream.

For 14", Asus Zephyrus G14 is there at $1199 for very long time...

Is that Yoga a gaming Laptop? You first decide why you need the laptop for first and then decide which is a good deal.

May be dead, don't see the 2060 as a selectable option anymore. Perhaps they sold out...

Can anyone speak to the build quality of this thing?
Cheap plastic and hinges or quality materials?

I don't want to be shopping for a new laptop again next year....like I am due to this POS Dell.
