That's just some marketing gimmick. All that means is that it will automatically re-measure at a specified time interval such as 15 seconds 30 seconds or whatever apart. You can just use their standard $30 version and just press the button to measure it again... If you don't care about the connected features and the memory etc, A better value is probably just getting their basic monitor.
This doesn't make any sense, but regardless...what did you want them to do? Replace the old one since newer technology came out?

If that's how it works, Samsung and Apple owe me a shit ton of phones and tablets.
Couple things to note with omron bp monitors in general.

1. Omron has some sort of region lock enforcement for their apps. If you buy the device in the US, it only works with omron app from the US app store. Something to keep in mind if you're gifting to someone out of the country.

2. The omron bp monitor talks to the app via Bluetooth but they require you to store the readings in their cloud service. Since I don't have much faith in their security. I'd recommend signing up with a throwaway email / name.

3. I've owned the omron 7, 10, and Evolve. All of them seems to suffer from inaccurate reading when battery gets lower. It also doesn't take much for battery to get lower. Couple measurement thorough out the month will make the battery low. I'm hoping the AC adapter included in this model solves the accuracy issue. In for one!

Unavailable on Amazon,
who say a "newer version" is the Omron Platinum @ $80.
So save $24 for an "older" model.
Probably slick....

Seems like a pretty good deal. The series 10 has a feature called TruRead which reads your BP 3x.

DON'T BUY. One blue cap part breaks regularly, rendering the machine useless within couple of months. replacement not available for months.

Also would say don't buy. Omron doesn't really care about usability of their machines. I had an Omron bluetooth BP reader. Worked great. Phone died about nine months after I got the reader. I bought a new phone. BP reader wouldn't pair with the new phone. That's right, they used bluetooth specs that wouldn't work with a modern phone.

What did they do for me? They didn't upgrade firmware, or their app, or provide a workaround. Nope. They offered me 5% off a new machine (at retail). That was it. Definitely can't recommend buying their tech.
