the hobbit extended trilogy is $56.99, damn that's expensive for digital. wish they'd had a 6 film set for lower.

$42 is ridiculous just for the extended. Go buy the discs with digital and you get both extended and theatrical for $90. The code that comes with it gives you both if you must have digital.

Can anyone else get this to work?! Just keeps telling me there's a problem and I've tried different payment methods and still won't work. FYI if you buy fandangonow gift cards you get 15% so $42.50 for $50

This being released in 4K was literally the only reason I finally upgraded to a 4K TV.

I tried as well, but I owned the hobbit and lotr extended edition bundles in FHD already. But itunes has already upgraded them to 4K, so bit of a moot point for me. Usually I don't get any option to buy 4k copies of things I own, so maybe it was a mistake to start with on their end?

Buying digital 4K UHD movies not on a disc is borderline a scam. The quality is lower than a 1080p Blu-Ray due to compression.

You can get the extended trilogy on Vudu for a total of $6 disc to digital 1080p versions. Just scan the bar codes that are widely available.

With fandangonow you have to go to the actual site and not the app to see the UHD versions. I think something is wrong with their site
