I just got the center channel yesterday. I don't get the hate for it, it sounds absolutely fantastic.
If you want "better than my TV" get a soundbar. If you want good, get a receiver and a good 5.1 surround setup. Hell, even a cheap receiver off craigslist and these bookshelf speakers by themselves will be a better experience.
These are good, although arguably better for music than movies. My receiver has a dialog lift option which helps for movies and tv. But overall bang for the buck, these are great.
Read/watch reviews for best budget speakers. Obviously these will vary on what is considered budget, but typically these are praised for their quality at their price.
Naturally people will say, "but for $30 more..." and then you multiply that across the line and suddenly you are +$90 or more from these.
I own center and one pair of BS (used as surrounds) along with Polks for fronts and sub. I coupled with a Pioneer LX303 that can do 5.1.4 Atmos and reused old cube speakers from an old system that are ceiling mounted. Sounds amazing. I wish I got the floor standing instead of Polk fronts. The idea was I could hang them in back at the right height/location, but that isn't going to happen any time soon so the FS would be great so they could be at a uniform height and distance
Can anyone recommend a stand for the bookshelf speakers?
I have these and they are awesome for the price. They compete with significantly higher priced speakers. I want to relocate the bookshelf speakers and would like to use a stand.
I've been using the Andrew Jones center, towers(not listed here), and bookshelf speakers for a 5.1 surround setup for years, and it still sounds amazing. Just make sure you have enough power to drive them.
I liked the bookshelf speakers so much I bought another pair for my computer. I use a Fosi Audio TB10A to power them. The sound is impeccable.
The L+R speakers are excellent for the price...but the center, not so much. (I own L-R and center and have first-hand experience with them). Great review here[audiosciencereview.com].
I'd recommend skipping this center channel unless cost is the primary driver.
