Also, the sale supposedly ends tomorrow (6th) according to the site. So probably the last chance to grab it at this price.

I was lucky enough to order this online when it was still in stock.

I was at a store on Long Island last night and they had a few of these in stock.

How come the 75" version and 85" version are the exact same price?

Because the 85" version is still on sale and the 75" is not anymore. The 75" version was just $1570 or so a few days ago but that sale ended. The 85" sale is about to end soon.

These have been in and out of stock at Best Buy this week too at this price if you are struggling to find at Costco. Shorter warranty but better delivery service and 5% cash back through Discover plus BB rewards.

Thanks. That makes more sense. I took pictures of both price markers in the store last night (adjacent to one another) and it looked odd, especially because the 85" one wasn't really marked with a price reduction.

Got mine yesterday, replacing a 2018 65" Sony. Awesome! Its like sitting in the front row at the movie theater. Watched some youtube 4K/HDR/60fps videos and I was blown away.

And yes, porn is larger than life on it too! laugh out loud

Setup was a breeze. Came with the latest firmware installed. Otherwise it detected and optimally configured almost everything I attached to it. Watched a few movies on it before bed. Just gorgeous. Highly recommended if you have the $ and space!

Edit: I also love the new sony remote vs the ones with my other sony tv's. The old ones were IR, came with crap batteries so you had to point it RIGHT at the IR sensor and had a zillion buttons on it. This is a large remote with a lot of empty space, simpler button layout, more like a roku remote than a tv remote in terms of buttons and reasonable spacing and its RF. Still came with the same off brand cheapo batteries. Why do big companies cheap out on such an inexpensive item on a high end tv?!? Same with cables and power supplies.

The Exchange had the XBR85X800H for $1499 yesterday - sold out now. I seriously was tempted by that except for the one poor rating for movies from rtings.com. This is a better rated tv but is it really worth $500 more + taxes?

Do you care about image quality? Then yes, it's worth the extra cost.
If you really care about image quality, then the Sony X950H is a better tv.

The poor movie ratings on RTINGS is for the IPS version of the X800H that they tested. The 85" has a VA panel (much better contrast and narrower viewing angles), so those movie ratings would be much better.
