Panasonic if you are not particular about having smart apps and 2 hdmi ports. Picture looks bright on Sony but colors are washed out.

No Dolby vision ☹️
3 pictures of the front/sides and none of the back, went to Panasonic's site and same thing. Do people buy this to look good on a shelf or do they want to actually hook it up to things?

Form the specs and the user manual it seems it only has one HDMI out and ethernet.
There are plenty of articles. Just Google "4k players 2020". General consensus is the best 'value' is the Panasonic 420 if you want performance. It has the same guts as the 820 just without dolbyvision which is considered an exceptional player - even compared to ones double/triple the price.

I picked it up mostly because I have a projector without Dolbyvision.

I have an xbox series x and the picture is really night and day. Not to mention the interface, loading times, navigation features. If you really want a good picture the consoles aren't the answer.

If you have a 3D - 4K projector or are planning on getting one, this might be a must buy for you. These 4K, 3D players may be almost impossible to find soon. I have a spare one in case my main one dies.

Which 4K PJ do you use/recommend?

Believe that's right. But you can't do lossless audio over optical, so wouldn't want that anyway.

I read somewhere the series x has raised black levels when playing movies, idk if they fixed that or not. Point is, it's a playskool version of a uhd player
