This is in-store only, and they seem to all be at the front of the stores where the Christmas deals are, they are not in the tool isle.

Now owned by Black & Decker, Craftsman lifetime warranty tools can be exchanged at any ACE, Lowes, NAPA or Sears stores.

Metric Set is same $10.49 price

Question, where do people use this? I have screwdrivers and ratchets but where would you use a combination like this?

Taking apart any washer or dryer to replace the belt often has a shipload of 1/4" headed screws and about 1/2 can't be reached with cordless driver.

Pinball machines have thousands of 1/4" headed screws

The hollow shafts let you hold a nut on the backside, while you use your cordless driver on the fastener itself

Clogged gutters need the 1/4" driver to remove sections

The blade guards on most table saws are 3/8" to adjust

Hose clamps usually have 5/16 nuts on them

Once you have a set, you will constantly reach for them.

These are made in China, not like the old USA ones. If you want cheap chinese nutdrivers, Harbor Freight has them for almost half this price if you use a 20% coupon.

Same country of origin, same sizes, same lifetime warranty.

It's too bad HF messed up the proper colors of the wrenches.

Everyone knows that 5/16 is supposed to be Yellow, 1/4" Red,....

Are the HF hollow shaft? That's probably the most important part of any nutdriver.

Most stores will not honor craftsman lifetime guarantee and this was before sears sold it
Minimum you need original receipts , even then most stores refuse
No receipt needed.

Go to any ACE or Lowes or NAPA or Sears. As long as they have a driver or set in stock, they exchange it - even if they have to open a set.

The only thing I could not get exchanged at my local ACE was a 1/2" impact socket, because they did not stock them. Had to drive all the way to Sears.

No receipt, they just opened a set of sockets and pulled me a new one. Easy Peasy.

"Return damaged product to a stocking Retail Partner or call 1-888-331-4569 for details. No proof of purchase required. This covers all Craftsman tools that were covered by the lifetime warranty regardless of manufacturer or where they were purchased. If the product fails to perform for any reason, we will replace it."

Thats the way its supposed to be. But many many Lowes stores will not do that. Especially if they have to open a set for one item.

People that have never had an issue think its common place. People like myself that have had issues at multiple stores know different.

Like you said, I've never had any problems exchanging Craftsman - so all my experiences are good.

I was very happy when ACE started carrying Craftsman, because I've got one maybe 3 miles away; for easy exchanges.

Now that NAPA stores have Craftsman, I'm in heaven, because I go there way more than ACE or Lowes.

Doesn't really matter that they're both from China, the Pittsburgh ones are still pretty shitty compared to the Craftsmans. For a step up at HF, look to their Quinns or Icons - though for those prices you can get into many other non-HF brands such as Gearwrench or US made Tekton [tekton.com].

Im into restoring pinball, and a good set is worth its weight in gold to me. This set isnt magnetic though, which IMO is a must, unless you like digging screws and nuts out of mechanisms.

Stand the nut drivers upright on the speaker magnet in the base of the pinball cabinet.

In a day or so, they will be fully magnetized.

Old coin-op trick.

Sorry for the rookie question. But Is there another way to magnetize the drivers with something that's more accessible in common households? I would like this set but only if I can magnetize them. Thanks in advance.

Find the strongest magnet in your house, stick the face of the nutdriver to it.

Leave undisturbed for a few days
