SEE WIKI FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is likely for those of you who wanted a new iPhone SE on a cheap plan or as a WiFi device and missed the online Cricket deal for $50. I was kicking myself for missing it so I went on a hunt to find a similar deal.

Before I go into the details of this deal, the Cricket deal had the SE at $50 plus a required $60 plan purchase so $110 plus taxes and a required port-in of a new number. This deal is slightly more expensive after codes but only requires a $25 plan and no port-in so it balances out a bit.

At the moment, this is the best I could find for someone who wants/needs the phone now and can't do the current in-store Cricket deal, which is the same as the online deal.

Please note this phone is locked to Simple Mobile for 12 months but should be usable on other Tracfone family brands. If this is incorrect please let me know and I will edit this information.

The deal:

Go to shop.simplemobile.com and enter an email address for a 25% code when you see the pop up. It doesn't have to be the email you end up checking out with. If you don't get a pop up, open the site in a private/incognito window and that should work.

Wait a minute or two and you should get one (they're one time use).

Select the iPhone SE 64gb and the $25 plan. Make sure you choose the one time payment option for $199.

Enter your code and also enter code SM10OFF.

The price will now be $157.49 pre-tax for the phone and the plan.

ADDITIONAL INFO MOVED TO WIKI TO COMPLY WITH SD RULES

Update: as of 1/8/20, the red version is out of stock, black and white still available.

Edit: for anyone interested in the actual phone service as well, here are the details of the $25 plan:

Unlimited Nationwide Talk, Text, and Int'l Text
Unlimited Data: First 3GB at High Speed, then 2G*
Unlimited International Calling** to 69 Destinations (up to 20 unique numbers)
International Roaming†† available to 16 countries in Latin America
$10 International*** Calling Credit
Add a line with this plan for $20. You can add up to 4 additional lines.

Don't forget, you get a free year of Apple TV+. Some good shows on there. You have three months after first setting up your device to take advantage of your free year of Apple TV+. Apple TV+ is on Roku [roku.com], Fire TV, Xbox & PlayStation too.

ORIGINAL POST INFO:

Thank you to the mods for allowing me time to move this here instead of removing the post. If any further changes need to be made, please let me know so this post stays compliant.

Now, I know we can't specifically mention CB here on SD, so I will just say that I was able to get 18% (total of $35.20) back on this for signing up to a site, which you should be able to cash out very easily as soon as the 30 day return window ends. This includes a $10 bonus for new sign up so $25.20 on the purchase itself. To note, I also added code NYE21 to my simple mobile cart even though it didn't take off any additional money, just to have it on there since it was mentioned on the CB site.

This brings the net total down to $122.29 plus taxes, or $12.29 more than the cricket deal. I waited to post this until the CB was verified in my account, which only took a few hours from time of purchase.

There are a few steps involved to get the full discount, but I hope at least a few people get some use out of this. If mods want me to remove the end portion of this post, please let me know as I'm trying to not violate the rules here.

*If you have issues with getting the email pop-up to appear, it seems that it is at the bottom of the simplemobile.com website on any page but not the shop.simplemobile.com site, so you may want to try just simplemobile.com (and scroll down) if you're having issues even in a private/incognito window.

This deal is still good - worst case, there is technically still a ymmv way to convert this to a $200 Amazon credit indirectly. Good price for wifi device too or remote video monitoring if you use Filmic, etc.

Yup, I was charged tax at full price when I did the online order. It's in the terms. Only difference is the activation fee.
Cool, that makes me feel better, thanks Smilie

CB from the "TOP choices" only triggered 12% for me not the $30 since the phone isn't over $375. Did anyone else other than OP actually made the $30 CB work?

You mean they charge tax on $399 online as well? It did not look like that when I was trying it last time (without actually completing the order).

They charge tax regardless. You the customer pays the tax, not the company. Had to correct it for you

I see 4% cash back on the CB site that I think you used. How did you get $25?
Not sure maybe this "15% off Phone + Plan Order When Both Are Bought in a Single Transaction. + Up to 4.0% Cash Back" Code: NYE21 Expires 1/31/2021

"Go to shop.simplemobile.com and enter an email address for a 25% code. It doesn't have to be the email you end up checking out with." I do not see anywhere on the web page posted https://shop.simplemobile.com/shop/en/simplemobile/new-year/sm-iphone-new-se2-64gb [simplemobile.com] where I could sign up for this 25% off - am I missing something obvious here?
Open the page in a private/incognito window if you don't get the pop up to enter email for coupon.

I think my shopping cart page also had a space at the bottom for it but I can't recall for sure.

The 15% is just a coupon not CB. The cb rate is 18% for new sign up. While we are not allowed to share or link this information here, it does seem that folks were able to find it.

My original plan was to activate the line and then port the number over the next day to Metro BYOD for $200 Mastercard GC if possible. Not sure if that would work since they both run on Tmobile network though so its likely that idea was dead from the start. Never got a chance to look into it because they killed the promo a day or two before I purchased the phone. I'm nowhere near as knowledgable about this stuff as some of the other folks here so maybe someone knows if that would have worked.

The metro deal was to keep the line for 3 months on $40 plan (plus $10 activation) to get the $200 so that would have been another $70 off the phone, which for me would have been the deal of the year (or the month).

I am not confirming or denying but the site in question will show 18% plus $10 bonus for new sign up. It now shows 15% on mine since I am no longer "new" but in a private tab, it is 18.

The great thing is that this transaction puts you over the required purchase amount ($10) in one shot so you should be able to withdraw the CB to your bank, venmo, or paypal as straight up cash about 30 days after you receive your phone.

There is still a way - you would be converting a BB gift card into amazon gift card. I was not reffering to the Amazon Trade In program. $200
