Had a store cancelled my order. What are the chances that an employee took it for itselft.

Anyway, trying another store and I have not heard anything yet.....
I suppose that could happen but most likely only manager can cancel an order.

I would stay away from display models.
Quick follow up to earlier post...I decided to see the one they had at local BB fully expecting a display model. Much to my delight it turned out to be a return in perfect condition including the pen. Sticker show $7xx but rang up at the $521 amount.

Sure seems like BB is playing games with pricing these open box laptops but I lucked out with this one.

Thanks OP.

I had this exact debate. 9i processor is a huge step up (especially the graphics, which allows you to play most pc games at low settings), but I couldn't get myself to justify the massive price increase... Almost double!

Went with c940. It's a beautiful laptop.
It's not though. 1185g7 and 1165g7 shouldn't be more than a few hairs apart in terms of graphical performance the the 1165g7 tested in the video only beat the 1065g7 in the c940 by around 8% on average

I picked mine up today from BB driving 28 miles one way. No biggie as the kids got a nice long drive. Laptop looked clean with no dents. Pen was missing. Charger was included. I plan on buying pen from Lenovo for $60 tonight but I was bummed out on the expiration of warranty merely 2 months ago. Could someone explain in short how to contact Lenovo with extension. Thanks in advance. For 520$ + tax I would buy three laptops with this quality of screen, specs and build. My kids and wifey love it.

He tested those laptops with discrete GPUs (GTX1650Ti) in both laptops - the difference in framerate is negligible because their discrete GPU covers most of the work. The gains in integrated graphics on 1165g7 are massive vs. 1065g7 (I've seen +50% fps). This does not include the significant CPU gains (mentioned in your video).

Do you just ask them and say it's a used laptop that you just bought from Best Buy? I'm really interested, but I don't know why they'd give me that service.

On a sidenote, typing this from my C940, which is MILES ahead of my Surface Pro 3 keyboard. Now just need to remember to cancel my other laptop orders that have been dragging along for so long.

It's not a "used" laptop, it's sold as new/open box.

That's not how discrete vs integrated graphics work. It's one or the other in a game..you think those figures wouldn't be anywhere near how low they are if the 1650ti was being used instead of the integrated graphics?

Further, you think Jarrod isn't smart enough to disable the discrete GPU for those programs????! He's one of the most respected laptop reviewers online.

LMAO

Video you posted has battlefield v running at 70fps. Yes, i'm telling you that's not possible with these integrated graphics.

Jarrod disclosed that both machines have discrete graphics right before he showed the results (@4:35).

Need more results from some youtubers that post actual data (settings, resolutions, etc...) for this specific test then. Still not believing 50% gains over a variety of titles

Regardless, there's still a gulf the 9i and something equipped with what is the bare minimum for AAA on lowish settings, the mx 350. Kind of like shades of bad, just (in some titles) significantly less so.

It'll take them a few days to get back to you, but they will reset the warranty to your purchase date.

10th vs 11th Intel CPU power is similar. iGPU performance however is a huge step up on 11th gen.

Read any review of Iris Xe. Many titles are even higher than a 50% gain over 10th gen Iris Pro.

If you don't care about games though, 10th gen is perfectly fine...and probably the better bargain with this 940.

I picked up a satisfactory one from my Bestbuy today for $520. The laptop itself is pristine, so it's probably not a floor model. Missing charger (but USB-C, so I can limp along), pen included. On the other hand, it's ancient; warranty was activated in October 2019... Not sure where this computer has been sitting for the last 15 months. Anyway, it replaces a surface pro 3, and I'll be cancelling my order for a Thinkpad T14 (placed back in the November sales and still not shipped.) I'm giving up my 16GB RAM with open slot, thinkpad keyboard, and AMD processor for $300 savings and the touchscreen+pen+form factor. I pretty much discount the warranty because in my life I've only ever used one a single time (and that was actually out of warranty period, but serviced because LG had been taken to task for making such a POS phone.)

Did you file for warranty yet . Mine is in exact same condition about active date and warranty and battery cycle so. also had a shelf display sticker s I believe we both got display units. Was missing pen so they compensated with a discounted wacom stylus for 20 additional bucks. Still debating to keep or not. Was in pristine condition with no box at all and gave me in a plastic bag when picked up. Running battery checks to see what % degraded for the last year this was on shelf. Also when filling for warranty it says this unit not eligible for additional services so waiting for lenovos response on it.

I posted a link that shows the improvement - did you actually watch it? The graphics (and CPU) improvement is well documented. Ignoring clock/memory/process improvements, you have 96EU vs. 64EU. Not sure why you are still not believing?

Agree neither laptop is designed for AAA gaming, but with 1165g7 GPU you can run MOST games at low settings... it's a big feat.

All this being said, i bought the c940 open box - at $520 it was a no-brainer and I love it... just can't understand why you are arguing so hard LMAO
