Postage from USPS... get it before rates go up!

Postage is going up on Jan 24th but not everything goes up the same percent.

Forevers are NOT going up, so if you only use forevers for letters and got plenty or you print postage and won't ever use stamps, move along, this is not a deal you'd be interested in.

Priority, express, parcels and post cards are all going up.

Second ounce is currently 15 cents and is going up to 20 cents (33%).

The post office sells a "forever" additional ounce stamp which currently is selling for 15 cents each but starting on Jan 24th will be worth 20 cents each.

You can use three of these stamps (currently 15 cents x 3 = 45 cents) starting on Jan 24 and it will cover a first class letter (5 cents over actually).

You can also use these on other mail (ie. priority mail, etc) as long as it adds up to current postage. Flat rate envelopes are going up from 7.75 to 7.95. If you don't mind putting lots of stamps on your envelope, 40 of these (2 panes of 20 stamps) will cost you $6 and will be enough for your flat rate envelope on the 24th. (or u could use 37 of these and a forever if that extra nickel is bugging u).

If you put postage stamps on priority mail, you'll have to go to the post office window with your package. U cannot just put it in the mail like a printed label.

The post office charges no sales tax. I know the usps store on ebay (run by the post office) was charging sales tax, but when I put the stamps in my cart, it looked like they were not going to charge me sales tax, so maybe ebay fixed that. Both usps.com and the usps ebay store charge $1.30 shipping (no matter how much u buy) or u can get them at the post office, no shipping. (I got 100 panes at the post office today but ymmv on how much they have in stock).

If you buy them on ebay, you'll get ebay bucks. If you can find a deal on ebay gcs (safeway usually has rewards back for gift cards), you can get a little bit more out of the deal.

The coil roll is not on ebay so you'd have to get it at the post office or usps.com

https://store.usps.com/store/prod...t-S_746904

These are LEGIT stamps from USPS.com, post office or usps store that is on ebay.

The deal is buy them at the current rate, use them when the rate for second ounce goes up 33%. They will be worth 20 cents each no matter how u use them.

A regular first class stamp only covers the first ounce of a envelope. For mailings that weigh more than one ounce, use these for ounces above the first.
So a two-ounce envelope will cost 55¢ for the first ounce and 15¢ for the second ounce, total 70¢

PO does NOT live off taxes. It lives off postage

but I've been doing that for at least the last 15 to 20 years.... I just drop them inside the drive-thru blue collection box outside of the mall. (sometimes jamming boxes into it) never seemed to have a problem. didn't know that I was doing it wrong.

You can also buy stamps at grocery stores, not just post office (Harris Teeter, Publix, Wegmans, etc)

Your state doesn't have an online option? Seems much easier than buying or for that matter finding your one stamp after a year.

OP is wrong. If you put stamps on your package you do not need to go to the window unless you're paranoid that you didn't use enough postage and want to double check. I always put mine in the box and if it doesn't fit, you can just walk past the line and leave it on the counter.

People bashing the USPS - I had to mail packages to Australia twice. The first time I assumed I should UPS or the like, and went to the UPS store, where I was told it would be $250, tracked. I was then given the option of leaving it with them, and having the option of using USPS international shipping for $99, with tracking (though I was warned the tracking could be spotty). Naturally I used the USPS option. The second time I had a slightly smaller box, and decided this time to go to the PO directly to ship it, and I was charged $33. Both packages arrived safely, btw.

I don't think you can use stamps on a package that weighs more than 13 oz.

You want 7.3 million people to be unemployed? Nearly 100,000 of those are veterans. Oh and the Postal Service receives NO tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
