Postage from USPS... get it before rates go up!

Postage is going up on Jan 24th but not everything goes up the same percent.

Forevers are NOT going up, so if you only use forevers for letters and got plenty or you print postage and won't ever use stamps, move along, this is not a deal you'd be interested in.

Priority, express, parcels and post cards are all going up.

Second ounce is currently 15 cents and is going up to 20 cents (33%).

The post office sells a "forever" additional ounce stamp which currently is selling for 15 cents each but starting on Jan 24th will be worth 20 cents each.

You can use three of these stamps (currently 15 cents x 3 = 45 cents) starting on Jan 24 and it will cover a first class letter (5 cents over actually).

You can also use these on other mail (ie. priority mail, etc) as long as it adds up to current postage. Flat rate envelopes are going up from 7.75 to 7.95. If you don't mind putting lots of stamps on your envelope, 40 of these (2 panes of 20 stamps) will cost you $6 and will be enough for your flat rate envelope on the 24th. (or u could use 37 of these and a forever if that extra nickel is bugging u).

If you put postage stamps on priority mail, you'll have to go to the post office window with your package. U cannot just put it in the mail like a printed label.

The post office charges no sales tax. I know the usps store on ebay (run by the post office) was charging sales tax, but when I put the stamps in my cart, it looked like they were not going to charge me sales tax, so maybe ebay fixed that. Both usps.com and the usps ebay store charge $1.30 shipping (no matter how much u buy) or u can get them at the post office, no shipping. (I got 100 panes at the post office today but ymmv on how much they have in stock).

If you buy them on ebay, you'll get ebay bucks. If you can find a deal on ebay gcs (safeway usually has rewards back for gift cards), you can get a little bit more out of the deal.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/USPS-New...3448535954 OOS

The coil roll is not on ebay so you'd have to get it at the post office or usps.com

https://store.usps.com/store/prod...t-S_746904

These are LEGIT stamps from USPS.com, post office or usps store that is on ebay.

The deal is buy them at the current rate, use them when the rate for second ounce goes up 33%. They will be worth 20 cents each no matter how u use them.

Not sure when this was. I used to love the USPS as I mail a lot of packages and they for the most part got there on time but as someone else said, it has gone steadily downhill in 2020. Some blame can be had on the pandemic, but I started noticing long delays, lost/missing packages, and false updates starting mid year, right around the time DeJoy took charge. This is a good deal, but if you need to mail a package in the near future be cautious or give yourself extra time with USPS.
I ship a lot of packages also and you are right and it got even worse for me from mid november and still hasn't gotten better and some packages travel like the should and some take weeks I've had packages not leave my local hub for 10+ days

Use pirate ship. com. It's fast and easy online shipping that is easier to navigate than the usps website. I was recently made aware of it.
You can also print and ship with a paypal acct.

You can! However everyone I've discussed it with who have tried both preferred pirateship.

I don't think you can use stamps on a package that weighs more than 13 oz.

They changed it to something like 10oz and added a girth threshold too.

Interesting, great info.

But, the above part I quoted from you is the deal killer. Waiting in line everyday for 20-30 minutes isn't worth the savings.

And waiting in line in during a pandemic ain't practical. Most older post office buildings have poor air circulation. Something to consider.

I think you are in the minority. You don't have to believe my recent experience, just do a quick google search for USPS delay. Good Luck.

I don't really think I am, tbh 🤷

For those that really want to use this for shipping priority for ultimate savings. USPS will not accept anything over approx 10 oz or thicker than (not sure on exact) 1 inch I think. UNLESS, you have some trackable postage. So you can still use xxx$ worth in .15/soon to be .20 stamps as long as you throw a metered stamp on. If you work at a business with a meter machine (Pitney bowes/Neopost/stamps.con) then you can usually print a $.00 stamp that will allow you to use up your stamps and still mail larger items.

I lead a nonprofit and write contribution thank you notes all the time. I use a lot of stamps and I believe people like getting a hand written note. They are more likely to send another donation if they are properly thanked. They are also more likely to open something with a stamp rather than metered postage.

I also use a fountain pen with a broad tip and take my time. I use Sargraso Sea blue ink from Diamine Ink UK. I order the ink 2 bottles at a time to save on shipping and it doesn't come in 2 days. Writing notes, mailing them, and the anticipation of receiving mail are enjoyable to me. Write someone a note of encouragement and you'll gain a friend forever.

Agreed. I was given a stationary box set as a kid by my grandmother. There still is a little bit of crayon on the side of it. Much later, I took to writing thank you notes to friends, colleagues and business associates. I do also have an e-card service I use, a Danish mom and pop / husband and wife shop that hand paints all the designs. Still, hand written notes and thank you cards make a real connection, because it is so rare nowadays. One of my friends must have liked this very much--so he got me a mont blanc pen as a gift. In all honesty, although I had heard the name, I didn't realize until later how nice of a gift that was. Now, its an even nicer experience to write a note!

If you've noticed delays in things since a certain time last year, f'ing duhhhh!!! It's not limited to USPS though. There are post offices and other delivery service processing plants that have been decimated by COVID. But for USPS, on top of a heavy political season where they are forced to deliver all that political crap, followed by the Christmas season. If you expect everything to chug along perfectly through all of that, try thinking big picture a little, you sound very ignorant. I get new Amazon delivery people every other week that leave my packages everywhere from next door, to x street, to the next street up that has my same addr#. my mailman knows exactly where to put my packages and handles them with care and professionalism every time!

USPS is a black hole into which we pour money. They have never made a profit because of their mismanagement, overpaid workers and expensive pension plans. So the answer as with all government agencies is to simply raise fees and throw more money at it. With the dawn of the internet and email people simply arent sending as many letters or cards. They could cut delivery to every other day and nobody would notice. Just my opinion.
By your logic, we should get rid of roads and bridges because they've never made a profit either. It's public infrastructure prescribed by the constitution and so why should we care if it makes profit? Now, delivery changes to bring it in line with usage, I can understand.

You can schedule a pick up online and your mail carrier will pick up your package. No need to wait in line at the post office.

keep increasing rates so people use your services less and less, great business model for the stupid

When you calculate inflation, the price is LOWER than it used to be.

When a stamp was 3 cents, they were paying more than 55 cents, today.
