Postage is going up on Jan 24th but not everything goes up the same percent.
Forevers are NOT going up, so if you only use forevers for letters and got plenty or you print postage and won't ever use stamps, move along, this is not a deal you'd be interested in.
Priority, express, parcels and post cards are all going up.
Second ounce is currently 15 cents and is going up to 20 cents (33%).
The post office sells a "forever" additional ounce stamp which currently is selling for 15 cents each but starting on Jan 24th will be worth 20 cents each.
You can use three of these stamps (currently 15 cents x 3 = 45 cents) starting on Jan 24 and it will cover a first class letter (5 cents over actually).
You can also use these on other mail (ie. priority mail, etc) as long as it adds up to current postage. Flat rate envelopes are going up from 7.75 to 7.95. If you don't mind putting lots of stamps on your envelope, 40 of these (2 panes of 20 stamps) will cost you $6 and will be enough for your flat rate envelope on the 24th. (or u could use 37 of these and a forever if that extra nickel is bugging u).
If you put postage stamps on priority mail, you'll have to go to the post office window with your package. U cannot just put it in the mail like a printed label.
The post office charges no sales tax. I know the usps store on ebay (run by the post office) was charging sales tax, but when I put the stamps in my cart, it looked like they were not going to charge me sales tax, so maybe ebay fixed that. Both usps.com and the usps ebay store charge $1.30 shipping (no matter how much u buy) or u can get them at the post office, no shipping. (I got 100 panes at the post office today but ymmv on how much they have in stock).
If you buy them on ebay, you'll get ebay bucks. If you can find a deal on ebay gcs (safeway usually has rewards back for gift cards), you can get a little bit more out of the deal.

The coil roll is not on ebay so you'd have to get it at the post office or usps.com

These are LEGIT stamps from USPS.com, post office or usps store that is on ebay.
The deal is buy them at the current rate, use them when the rate for second ounce goes up 33%. They will be worth 20 cents each no matter how u use them.

You can! However everyone I've discussed it with who have tried both preferred pirateship.
They changed it to something like 10oz and added a girth threshold too.
But, the above part I quoted from you is the deal killer. Waiting in line everyday for 20-30 minutes isn't worth the savings.
And waiting in line in during a pandemic ain't practical. Most older post office buildings have poor air circulation. Something to consider.
I don't really think I am, tbh 🤷

I also use a fountain pen with a broad tip and take my time. I use Sargraso Sea blue ink from Diamine Ink UK. I order the ink 2 bottles at a time to save on shipping and it doesn't come in 2 days. Writing notes, mailing them, and the anticipation of receiving mail are enjoyable to me. Write someone a note of encouragement and you'll gain a friend forever.
Agreed. I was given a stationary box set as a kid by my grandmother. There still is a little bit of crayon on the side of it. Much later, I took to writing thank you notes to friends, colleagues and business associates. I do also have an e-card service I use, a Danish mom and pop / husband and wife shop that hand paints all the designs. Still, hand written notes and thank you cards make a real connection, because it is so rare nowadays. One of my friends must have liked this very much--so he got me a mont blanc pen as a gift. In all honesty, although I had heard the name, I didn't realize until later how nice of a gift that was. Now, its an even nicer experience to write a note!

When you calculate inflation, the price is LOWER than it used to be.
When a stamp was 3 cents, they were paying more than 55 cents, today.
