Postage from USPS... get it before rates go up!

Postage is going up on Jan 24th but not everything goes up the same percent.

Forevers are NOT going up, so if you only use forevers for letters and got plenty or you print postage and won't ever use stamps, move along, this is not a deal you'd be interested in.

Priority, express, parcels and post cards are all going up.

Second ounce is currently 15 cents and is going up to 20 cents (33%).

The post office sells a "forever" additional ounce stamp which currently is selling for 15 cents each but starting on Jan 24th will be worth 20 cents each.

You can use three of these stamps (currently 15 cents x 3 = 45 cents) starting on Jan 24 and it will cover a first class letter (5 cents over actually).

You can also use these on other mail (ie. priority mail, etc) as long as it adds up to current postage. Flat rate envelopes are going up from 7.75 to 7.95. If you don't mind putting lots of stamps on your envelope, 40 of these (2 panes of 20 stamps) will cost you $6 and will be enough for your flat rate envelope on the 24th. (or u could use 37 of these and a forever if that extra nickel is bugging u).

If you put postage stamps on priority mail, you'll have to go to the post office window with your package. U cannot just put it in the mail like a printed label.

The post office charges no sales tax. I know the usps store on ebay (run by the post office) was charging sales tax, but when I put the stamps in my cart, it looked like they were not going to charge me sales tax, so maybe ebay fixed that. Both usps.com and the usps ebay store charge $1.30 shipping (no matter how much u buy) or u can get them at the post office, no shipping. (I got 100 panes at the post office today but ymmv on how much they have in stock).

If you buy them on ebay, you'll get ebay bucks. If you can find a deal on ebay gcs (safeway usually has rewards back for gift cards), you can get a little bit more out of the deal.

The coil roll is not on ebay so you'd have to get it at the post office or usps.com

https://store.usps.com/store/prod...t-S_746904

These are LEGIT stamps from USPS.com, post office or usps store that is on ebay.

The deal is buy them at the current rate, use them when the rate for second ounce goes up 33%. They will be worth 20 cents each no matter how u use them.

But the processing fee for online payment in NJ is like $1.47 for sedans. So still come out ahead by mailing in.

Go in person, then when it's 'convrnient'. Would be nice if NJ didn't nickel and dime for everything but both parties either tax and spend or give huge tax breaks to those who don't need it leaving poor people nickel and dimed for services

Some of the lines at NJDMv are hours long and outside right now. Heartens back to the early 90's when taking a day off to get things settled at DMV was common. Seems like we're heading back in that direction. So sad here in NJ.

If any state was going to charge extra for tax, it would be California though.

I put them in my cart (when they were available) and I wasn't going to be charged sales tax and I'm in California. I would have the shipping charge which I think was a buck and change.

If I buy postage from other people on ebay, then yes I have to pay sales tax but every one but the post office is a reseller. If I buy them from a dealer, they are taxable merchandise.

Did you try to put them in your cart to see if they were going to have sales tax applied or just assumed ebay is charging sales tax?

You can use stamps on any weight but over 13 oz. you have to drop it off in person or it will not go by air for security reasons. If you mail a ill licit materials with metered mail there is evidence who paid the postage. By requiring personal delivery of stamped packages they have some level of evidence.
