The difference sounds small, but the 77" is 40 percent larger a screen vs the 65".
01-12-2021 at 07:18 AM
because they use on big panel............when they cut the panel to 2 or more pieces they can sell it cheaper.........while a bigger screen piece will me much more expensive.......the left over from the cut is just a waste

OLED panels are cut from a "mother glass". Currently, you can cut only two 77" OLED panels from it. The rest is wastage. So the 77" screens are more expensive to produce. Meanwhile, you can get SIX 55" panels from the same mother glass, so the margins are higher, so they are priced relatively much cheaper.

Similar to diamonds... :)

Also 77-65=12 not 7.

It's under the product description on Costco's website, in green text.

I will not be using the tv for gaming, just for tv - sports, movies, etc. Based on reviews and i want 2.1 (Sonos Arc), i think CX is the choice. Am I overdoing it, or is it the right choice?
Get the Sony A8H when it goes on sale/clearance. It is a better TV for sports and movies. You don't need HDMI 2.1 if you're not gaming. You only need eARC, and the A8H has it.

How is the current android OS on Sony? I have a 5 year old Sony and I hate the OS. navigating the menu is super slow. It reboots on its own every few days. Every OS update makes the TV slower.

Looking at reviews the past few years, they haven't improved much in terms of OS performance and therefore not even on my radar.

I second that. I have the Sony one year older and the picture quality is way better then LG. Watched using same cables, same equipment and same movies. Ended up returning the LG.

Bottom line is if you want better picture for sports and movies you go w Sony. If you do gaming or care about os stay w lg.

It's pretty good unless you do gaming. It was on sale before for 970. With 5 year warranty and if bought w visa 7 years. So almost half the price. I don't think lg is worth double.
I got the a8g it's 2019 edition for 1500 and it looks way better than the LG. In the same room same everything.

They will replace the frame of you schedule service according to forums.

For all- the offer website that's now blocked here has this way cheaper now if you aren't on the west coast. If you are on the west coast $2699 at Video only. Sadly they won't refund the difference for prior purchases.
Thank you for your response! I think I'll call them and let them know.
What is the offer website that's blocked hereand why is it blocked? It sounds like there are better deals? What am I missing?

Costco warranty is pretty solid. I picked up a open box 65 inch LG C8 1.5 years ago and it had light burn in. I wasn't bothered by it as it was minimal and used the costco warranty just last month. They were able to fix the burn in without any hassle.

From what I read and heard Costco doesn't cover Burn-in. Best buy covers it provided you buy their warranty in addition

No deal on 48"?
48" panels are cut from the same master glass as the 77". So they are produced at the rate 77" oled tvs sell.

It was in stock in stores at the time. I bought mine a few days earlier and then did a price match. But they had 10-15 units at the time on the floor also. It's always a good practice to go to your local Costco to check stock, when it's OOS online. I wish you the best for future and hope you get a good deal
