XBC 2 is superior in my opinion in every way: game mechanics, battles, story, sound, and graphics. I played 2 first then picked up this remake back in May 2020, and although not bad, 2 is the game that can be identified with this generation. I then lent both games to a friend and he played it in the correct order (1 then 2) and he agreed— 1 is great (probably if your first experience is with the Wii or 3DS version), but 2 is superior and held his interest because it is less tedious despite having way more to do sidequest-wise.

Don't get me wrong— this remake is fine, but of the two, 2 is just better in every single way.

How is this for good luck? BB is closing down the GCU program and refunding everyone whose GCU was supposed to last past march 1st.... mine was set to end on march 3rd. lmao. So I get $30 just for the inconvenience of it ending 2 days early. And also they somehow accidentally gave me double the years of it, as well... so i got 4 years for price of 2 (unless they double charged me and I somehow missed it) and then get refunded.

On the flip side, though, it was mostly a waste for me. I barely played botw, I played mk8d like once, I bought FOUR seasons of mlb the show and only played a few games between them all, bought a few other games that I haven't even opened, etc...

I just hope they get botw 2 and mlb the show 21 up for preorder before march 1st.

ps this shows they must really lose money with that program to feel it's better to refund people fully than to continue it. And just a few days ago people on here were saying how dumb BB was to discontinue it at all.
